Of course it’s a simple answer if you’re a total idiot.
I’m giving up on this forum - it’s a toxic echo chamber taken over by a bunch of people who are so full of themselves and their own opinions- they don’t see the damage they are causing or recognise what they are wishing for- listening to the garbage on here I think at least half of you would rather that Vale had gone into administration back then so you could have something more to  moan about- it’s pathetic.
I don’t know what planet you are living on - you’re never happy with anything and you’re always looking for someone to blame for everything that goes wrong.
we are where we are and we need to pull together to make it better.
It’s possibly the most depressing experience anyone who is a genuine vale fan could have - I was hoping for some reasonable discussion about the club and how best to support it but all I hear is outpourings of bile and criticism - sometimes I think you don’t deserve the club - if you’re all so brilliant how come you’re not owners or managers ?
If we get relegated- and it’s still an if - we will still have a club to support, and I will still be supporting them.
as for you, frankly, you can say or do whatever you like but don’t dare to claim you speak for anyone other than yourselves.

Great post. Notice that only 60 have signed petition. The minority that seem to think they speak for the majority.

Second sanctimonious open letter I've read lately 🤣💥

Wowzer, fans causing the damage. What are we supposed to do, just clap and be happy in which way the club is going. Wake up and smell the coffee.

ps. Don't just take the view of fans on OVF, have a look at other social media platforms, majority saying the same.

Opinions are just that, many and varied. Anyone noticed the falling attendances, now that's a fact not an opinion.

What don’t you get - minority of our supporter bas!. Maybe majority on here but very much a minority.

for goodness sake get behind the club until the end of the season and then voice your opinions. Nothing that you say will change the personnel until the end of the season.

I'm actually very angry with myself still. Can't get over how at my age I fell hook line and sinker for his podcast last week and saw it all in a different light.

What a goon I was. Mr Gullible.

Mr Gullible, <ovf censored> baffles brains,  classic 2nd hand car salesman.

Don’t be too harsh on yourself.

Exactly this. I get behind the team 100% during the game. Me complaining about Flitcroft after the game, on here, or on Twitter, will not make a difference in us going down, but it might show the powers that be how unhappy people are.

Pointless survey. Carol has Flitcroft's back so there is absolutely no way she is going to dump him.

The thing is, people are blaming him for failings that are within the scope for the team manager. The manager knows what shape he wants his team to play and chooses the players that he thinks will play his system. The DoF assists in recruitment, signs the contracts etc but it's the manager that chooses the targets. Does anyone honestly think Darren Moore will have come to VP on any other basis? The club just made a bad (easy?) choice when appointing a manager this time last season. Vale are paying the price for it now.

I still feel that we're a couple of good performances away from mid table. All Darren Moore has to do is bring it out of this group of players. Maybe next season he'll create a side more to his liking but for now it is what it is. I just hope that it doesn't end with the dreaded drop.

I agree with you on the survey and manager but you can’t ignore appalling 1st team personnel decisions over the last 18 months. That is squarely on Flitcroft.

That squad in no way represented the vision set out by Crosby and is ridiculously unbalanced after the worst Jan transfer window in our history. It’s even worse than the window when we had under Micheal Brown.

If we do go down Flitcroft’s position is untenable.

Here’s a question, if a large proportion of our fan base have begun to lose faith and belief in our Director of Football and view him as some sort of charlatan then quite probably a proportion of the playing squad may feel the same way?

If the players lose faith then it may well affect their morale and ultimately what they produce on the pitch. In that sense there may well be some merit in doing all that we can to oust Flitcroft from his post.

whilst Tom Pope’s post exit diatribe could have been articulated a little better, I think he was trying his best to explain what he believed Flitcroft to be and what he would do to the club.

I feel like I am part of a family where a younger sister has fallen for a rogue and no amount of pleading or evidence presented can change her mind, she loves him no matter what. We all know how it will unfold but until she see’s it through there’s nowt we can do other than be there for her when the wheel comes off.

What on earth did that buffoon think would happen when he failed to recruit the players he himself had pointed out that we needed. What did he think was gong to keep us in League 1, the ghost of George Andrews ?

Sorry Dr I disagree with your sentiments here.

Players do not see or hear DoF other than contract time.

DoF very strongly rebuked any suggestion he was involved in anything to do with 1st team affairs and leaves the manager to do deal with it, even going as far to say if Clarke or Crosby did they would be liars.

Players play for the manager not the DoF.

There is absolutely no value in cranking up pressure to remove DoF in the current circumstances.

Wait until we are safe or relegated.

Fundamentally it is all on Carol.

She didn't have to appoint him.

She didn't have to give him full control when working part-time.

She didn't have to go along with all the silly infrastructure stuff.

She didn't have to sack anyone with any degree of football experience and replace them with family and friends.

She didn't have to appoint Crosby without speaking to anyone else.

She didn't have to stick by Flitcroft as he continued to balls up windows.

She didn't have to choose to side with Flitcroft over the fans when they started to raise concerns.

She didn't have to belittle the fans who were worried.

She didn't have to keep employing a DoF responsible for 11 wins in 53.

Sorry, we can discuss the flaws of the DoF all night, but bucks stops with the decision-maker at the top. Carol has caused all this through conscious, bad decisions she's made which has been driven by a resentment of the average fan.

Even for you this is a pathetic post! Carol didn't need to do any of those things - that bit is true - but,  as the owner, she chose to...in exactly the same way as any business owner, anywhere! If those decisions turn out to be bad ones, then Carol will have to face the consequences of those actions, and determine her next strategy. If, however, the decisions that have been made as part of a transitional phase turn out to have been good, and well-intentioned, then she will reap the benefits and decide her next course of action.

As for the sentence highlighted in bold - what a  load of paranoid tosh!!!!

Is that the same non-interfering DoF who then talked about how he had a word with Crosby about certain players being higher up the pitch?

I’m not saying that I would sign a petition, I was posing a question or two, admittedly with a slight bias. I’m pretty sure it would have been the director of fluffball that sacked both Darrell Clarke and Andy Crosby and as such players will have an opinion. Furthermore if the so called “busiest man at the club” isn’t interacting with players then it must just be campus duties he is seeing to.
As a fan I feel short changed and a bit duped, I’m not buying the future vision of kindergarten FC, developing short stayers to make the board richer.
I don’t want Arblaster’s or Devines, I want Bernie Slaven’s and Ron Fuchers and maybe the odd Bill Bentley.

I do love Garrity though, thanks DF.
