I occasionally try out a little sarcasm on here which I know is foolish on my part. The three managers I quoted are all in charge of teams we have beaten this season. For the avoidance of any doubt I don’t think we are crap.

    people think when a player leaves because another team has brought them they think the original club still has to pay their wages? 
     

    that is complete an utter crap if uche left vale wouldn't have to pay a penny more to him. He in affect is terminating his contract with us to sign a new contract with a new club.

    Their may be the odd exception if a player has like a 5 year contract and refuses to leave as wants to sit on his wage so they offer to pay up part of his contract so the player agrees to a move elsewhere but od say 99% of transfers is your agreeing to terminate contract to sign one else where. 
     

    jordan henderson would be in for one hell off a payday signing for ajax if he was still entitled to his saudi contract aswell 🤣

    For me Chislett could play higher. I don’t believe this rumour especially in Jan. makes no sense. We would be in one hell of a relegation battle if he left though

    I can't help wondering if they are fishing for better offers. Seems to be dragging out a bit from the initial rumour breaking.

    It’s dragged because he’s overseas, been at United’s training camp in Dubai this last week. Guess we’ll know tomorrow if United have now returned.  No reason for it not be announced tomorrow if it is a done deal, gives him more time to meet and train with the squad etc…

    All the talk of uche going and us having to pay his wages is a real grey area. There are many ways it could go.

    We could demand a fee or else he isn’t going anywhere. 

    We could let him go for no fee if we just wanted him off the books.

    We could come to an agreement over his last 6 months and not pay the full amount but pay a percentage of it. 

    He could get a signing on fee / increased wages / longer contract there and ask us if he can go for nothing. 
     

    it’s not cut and dried that a player has to have his full contract paid up. It just depends how negations go between the clubs and agent.

    Today Appleton rumoured to be sacked tomorrow.
