Be interesting to see how brook gets on. He didn't do much in this latest new Zealand one day series and he was poor in the IPL this year in India so it is possible he could struggle again in India. I think he's only in the squad really because of Roy having issues with his back and England didn't want take the risk of taking a player with an injury with them.

Looks likes Stokes is likely to miss tomorrow's opener due to injury

I like this format for a tournament, means the final 4 will be there on merit unlike other tournaments when weather can really affect it. I’d leave stokes out tomorrow, unless 100% fit no point risking him and Brook is class anyway. I think we will make final 4 and then be between us and India for the tournament.

Not sure if you're new around here but this is the other sport section. Hence why it's about the cricket not port vale

No , not new. Was on the general forum when I commented, but have no problem with where it is now.

Used to play the game, which I think is very enjoyable, but watching it no. Have been to matches at Derby, Durham and Newlands. The latter mostly of drinking vast amounts of beer and falling asleep. Exciting to watch or what.

Do enjoy the Rugby World Cup , but would not want/ expect to see it on the Vale forum.

Poor batting for England against Afghanistan. Biggest win in their history I believe. Credit to them

England now bottom of the league on two points after Afghanistan beat Pakistan.What's gone wrong in this competition?

Picked the wrong team for a few games. Then winning the toss and bowling the other day on a hot warm day was a mistake. The team they picked the other day was very unbalanced as we took out Curran and woakes bother bowlers who bat abit and ended up with Willey at 7, Rashid at 8, wood at 9, Atkinson 10 and topley at 11. So we basically decided to chase with a weaker batting line up than previous games. Also not having a proper 2nd spinner in the team to support Rashid either mo Ali Liam Dawson or rehan Ahmed would help on Indian pitches that tend to suit spinners.
