Without a doubt, as the days shorten.

Is it just me or does anyone else think that our floodlights seem to initially come on well before the natural daylight seems to be dim enough to need any additional illumination?

Even if we kick off at 1pm if it’s a dull and miserable day the floodlights will be on

How much does it cost to use floodlights for 3 hours for a football game?

Can't speak for a football club, but i work for a relatively large school with quite a large Astro pitch for Football and Hockey.

The costs of ours equate to approx £40 an hour. They aren't anywhere near the level of a football club so even a total guess i'd say you could be looking at £250 an hour upwards, also factor in other lighting not just the floodlights themselves.

Is this at current prices or is this pre prices going up, some businesses are having their electric multiplied by 5, so if that was he case your school would it be £200 or did it used to be £8?

If it does cost thousands to use the floodlights the club have got to ask themselves how many paying fans are going to not turn up if they move KO time

No where near as much as the fecking police

2 games really jump out at me as OTT .

The other year Grimsby at home ( i know there was trouble away ) , but Hamil Road was a sight to behold with Police on every corner and riot vans galore. Think they brought about 600 with a mob of about 50 potential for trouble. I thought we'd got a visit by The Prime Minister or some dignitary such was the overkill.

And then last week was absolutely ludicrous, i was in Burslem at 9-15 am as i had a walk up to get my Peterborough tickets. I kid you not a riot van was already on the pavement outside the town hall nearly 6 hours prior to kick off. I'm sure others would of seen it too. Can't imagine for the life of me a single Shrewsbury fan wanting to be in Burslem at that hour.

Then again Burslem and the Hamil were absolutely swamped by Police , the majority of whom did diddly squat and would of been laughing all the way to the bank after cushy overtime.

Costs the club a fortune i'd imagine and totally over the top reactions. The issue obviously is that they will say job done as was no mither. Less Policing and there is mither then they'd be criticised for not enough of them.

Very good point, i'm only privy to the prices for 21/22 at the moment, so you are right they are going to be £200 job now, hence Vale would be a few grand .
