Worried About Micky's Attitude

I think he's gutted most about being docked the 10 points. I really feel the playoffs were in his sights. Allbeit before the 10 point penalty.

What followed/follows? An awful display against Barnet, and now the attitide that the season is firmly over.

I can sympathise massively, however there isnt anything he can do now.

Control the Controlables!!!

He's getting a bit bipolar. Sat he's cheesed of with BY+co, Mon he's happy with BY+co, Friday he's cheesed off again. Probably making excuses for Saturday's performance in advance. Personally I think he's very self centred and actually it is all about Micky Adams.

It always has been about Micky Adams. I'm not surprised by his attitude.

I'm not one of these "Micky is the Messiah" fans. He's an average football manager. His strength is in motivating players, if he cannot even motivate himself, then what use is he to us?

Adams is totally anti-press so it's not unusual for him to come out and have a bit of a moan. Some people need to step back and look at it from his viewpoint though.

1) He's motivated a poor group of players and got them around the playoffs for most of the season

2) He lost 10 points so he goes from playing for something to playing for nothing. Probably the single greatest fear of any manager.

3) He doesn't know what is going to happen to his better players, it's out of his hands basically

4) He doesn't know whether he'll be on the scrapheap at the end of the season

5) If he's still in place at the start of next season, he'll have to completely rebuild a squad that can cope with our sometimes-deluded expectations

Try and motivate yourself and a set of players to go out and compete in games when you don't know if there will even be football here next season.

To be fair when you put it like that it's little surprise that Micky is nearly at breaking point, especially given all the promises he was given by the old board about new investment, money for new players. He was basically stabbed in the back by those above him.

Micky and the players deserve a lot of credit for their conduct during the past couple of months given the uncertainty that has faced the club. In addition to this our performances and results in the past two months or so under the circumstances have been superb. Our performances warranted more points than we got against Bradford, Crewe etc aswell.

Give credit where it's due. We were very much in the hunt for the play offs until the unfortunate points deduction. Fortunately we should still have enough points to stay in the League even after going into administration. 3 wins at the very most is needed now.

Keep the faith.:)

The season isn't over - there is the small matter of avoiding relegation, and the sooner the better. 50 POINTS by the end of Easter please. Sounds easy, 7 games, 7 points but then a look at the away fixtures and if we screw up a home game (has been known) then it's skid marks time.

I really hope MA is treating it as a serious situation NOW in order to avoid a possible crisis and disaster later. If he is, then that shows what a good manager we have.

I'm a big fan of Micky Adams but I've heard him this morning on the radio and he's starting to do my head in a bit.

He's started talking about himself in the third person again - 'it's not about Micky Adams'

I can fully understand he is not happy at the current situation but he is still being paid a big wage (more than most of us could only dream of) and he needs to get the players up for tomorrow and subsequent games otherwise safety might not be as clear cut as we think.

All these negative radio interviews he keeps giving aren't helping the cause. He has a high opinion of himself and to be honest he hasn't achieved anything with us yet and his record isn't all that great in recent years.

I think we've got some good players at the club, but let's be honest a lot of them are lucky to be playing league football so maybe a mini-clearout might do us some good - I think Adams is obviously going to be upset and defend his players because in the main he signed them - but we've had three seasons under him in this league and I don't think we've improved much at all.

Hopefully we can bring in a bit a more quality when new owners arrive. Come on Micky - sort it out and do what you're paid to do.

I agree. Micky has suffered like the rest of us, but there's no use whinging, he should just do his best with the resources available. There's no point moaning as we are all well aware of the situation.

MA's greatest strength is motivation, so if he starts talking a bit more positively and focuses on getting the players pumped up, we may just finish above crwho yet!

1) The whole squad was either brought in by micky or had their contract renewed by him. It is his squad. If it isnt good enough, then its his fault. Not an excuse.

2) They are playing for the future of the club, far more important than any play off position we may have just missed out on again.

5) Not necessarily a bad thing. I would have only kept about 4 of them through choice, and about a couple more because we want a little consistancy. As long as we keep rico, loft and possibly marshall and shuker, Id be happy (I would have included collins).
