Hahaha, this guy tips up with one of if not the most blatant wind up thread in recent history and people are actually responding to it.

Come on he is definitely having a grin at your expense here.

Leave the muppet on his own with his own lonely little thread.

It aint no wind up.

Teams would rather get themselves into loads of debt, just to try to get further up the football league, rip off loads of small businesses and then go into administration as the easy option. There are loads of clubs doing this at the moment !!

Administration is not the way for forward.

It's unfair on clubs like Macclesfield and Hereford, who have no debt and are fighting to retain their football league status every season !!

Aren't Macclesfield propped up by some foreign businessman? Lets be honest it's not their fanbase that keeps them going.

Harsher punishments for administration fair enough but until the Football League actually have a robust "fit and proper person test" it's not going to be a deterrent. Do you think Miller, Deakin, Lloyd etc give a flying **** if we're relegated or not? People like them just walk away and let the innocent victims in this pick up the pieces.

Spot on.

Take a good look at Rangers - according to the BBC, the proof of funding advanced by their last owner was based on a loan raised against future ticket sales and the incumbent Directors knew nothing about it until the deal had gone through, leaving the loyal supporters of Glasgow to pick up the pieces, if they can. Apparently, he was also disqualified from being a Director, if I've understood it correctly, yet it was never disclosed. Meanwhile the football authorities do little or nothing to enforce their "fit and proper person" test.

Then there's Birmingham whose owner is in court, and the previous owner of Brighton who sold the ground from under their feet, and MK Dons who were allowed by the football authorities to relocate 83 miles. The list goes on. And the latest piece of football research shows that there are only about 10 clubs in the entire league trading within their means while the FA and FL look on. Talk about fiddling while Rome burns.

It's only the fans, who really care, who are keeping the whole football edifice afloat.

Haha you're ace you are. You're obviously not a fan of port vale so I'm pretty sure if it was any other club you'd be digging deep with sympathy. I hope it never happens to your club, and before you say it won't just a thought I'm sure the likes of rangers Portsmouth Leeds etc all thought the same. You aren't immune.

Have a lovely evening playing with your stickle bricks and don't get spaghetti hoops down your new top.

Don't know if you're a WUM or not, but I'll bite. This sort of practice is more prevalent in non league circles where teams such as Retford, Gresley Rovers, Boston and Ilkeston have spent money they haven't got to chase a promotion dream by paying top wedge for the better players (non league isn't the paradigm it's made out to be, as they all still chase the best pay cheque even at semi-pro level), and not settled their off field debts to creditiors which has led to them folding, reforming or resigning from the division they strove so hard to reach, and end up lower than where they started.

It'd be unfair on us to get automatically relegated on that basis when we have by no means overspent on the team in the last 9 years

Teams like Macclesfield and Hereford, own their own ground, no debts and every year they are fighting to retain their football league status.

Meanwhile other clubs will; build up debts, pay transfer fees, pay players far too much. Just to have a chance at being successful because of the pressure of their fans.

It's just not fair!!!

This is why, I think teams should be relegated for going into administration. 10 point deduction is not enough. There needs to be a bigger punishment for going into admin.

1. You're punishing the wrong person.

2. You're punishing the fans.

3. The owners largely get away with it.

It you want to actively punish teams that go into admin then two things need to happen.

1. The fit & proper test needs ramping up to include a signed duty to the debt of the club as well as extensive evidence to provide proof of funding.

2. Owners/board members who oversee a club going into administration should be immediately banned from holding a similar position ever again.

Punishing the club itself, especially when in Vale's situation, there has been significant under investment on the playing side with no success, does nothing but hit the wrong people.

However in Vale's situation, assuming MOLD haven't squirmed out of their responsibilities, the other shareholders can litigate against them and make them feel the pain.
