Players & Staff... A credit to our beloved club

[The One]

In light of the recent speculation regarding unpaid bills and fears of administration I thought it would be nice to share this little story with you following my visit to Northampton Town on Saturday.

 

Myself and three other family members were lucky enough to be guests of a regular sponsor to Northampton Town and were treated to VIP treatment all day.

 

One of the highlights was the opportunity to lead the teams out at the beginning of the match, but the highlight of the day was to follow.

 

Following on from the post match presentations we waited for the Vale players and staff to board the coach home in hope to get a few photos and autographs.

 

Every single player and coach stopped and spent time with us signing autographs and having photos with us and nothing was too much bother for them.

 

Marc Richards was already on the coach so we asked Lofty if he could have a word because my young niece wanted a photo with him (she secretly fancies him!). Seconds later Rico was off the coach and spent time with us signing autographs and having his photo taken with us.

 

We had a quick chat with Griff who was 'still in the zone', he was still proper psyched lol. Can't really repeat what other things he said but I know that are proper up for the Crwho game.

 

Grew, Horse, and Rob Page all came out together and came straight over to us. I asked Grew when Micky Adams was due out and the reply was 'He's got 8 pints to drink yet'! :)

 

Just as we thought we weren't going to get to see Micky we were taken inside the main reception and introduced to Micky where we had a chat and a brilliant photo taken with him, he made an effort to check the photo to make sure we were happy with it, top bloke.

 

So, all in all, you could probably excuse the players for not wanting to know or care with everything thats going on but to a man they did themselves, the club, and us fans proud on Saturday.

 

I know we all have certain opinions on players and staff but they were an absolute credit to Port Vale FC on Saturday, and in all honesty have been through this very testing time.

 

Lets get behind them tomorrow and shout that extra bit louder because they care just as much as we do.

Brilliant post, under these conditions most teams struggle, it is a credit to the staff and all the players that we find ourselves just outside the play offs! Well done boys, keep it up :)
