Why no minute silence?

Why was there no show of respect at yesterdays game for the late great John Ritchie. If it was the families decision then I totally respect that. However if it was decided by the club they should hang their heads in shame.

I agree ..................The current board wouldnt know John, but it shows the total lack of feeling coming from the club,to make an announcement at half time was cheap however if it was the families decision then I respect that.

I take Phil's point about the frequency with which we would have a minute's silence (or applause) for every former player who died, but it should be marked in some way by the club - even if it was just to have a page in the next programme with a photo and some words remembering the player. These men are all part of our history and have contributed to the club, so their passing should be respected in some fashion, if that is what the family want.

I don't care if a former players dies every day, or twice a day, there should still be some kind of event (silence or applause) to remember them by.

If Bratt and Oliver really were Vale fans they would know this and do something about it. Of course, they are not real fans so they don't.

A really disgusting unpleasant club.

RIP John Ritchie.

Spot on. The fact that some on here seem to be saying that it's too much trouble just beggars belief !!!

Spot on!Oliver and Bratt would have seen him play as with many of the older players. It would have been a nice gesture, even if they only wore black armbands.Understandably younger fans dind't see him play but the same can be said when Mathews died yet all did a minutes silence!!!!
