There was £200k recorded in the accounts as cash in the bank for a few years but then it disapears, who knows where to? I also suspect that Joan Walley may have helped the club in good faith to get loans and grants etc but this has implicated her subsequently with wrongdoing. I can think of no other reason why a lifelong Vale fan with some influence would sit idly by and do nothing.

Vale had a grant from these bodies for the new gym behind the Hamil End stand. Why is this facility still unfinished after nearly three years and where has the money gone?

It was some Cowboy outfit which was one of Bratts mates that did the work on the gym, cash in hand like.

I always thought grants were very strict on what they are spent on. I.E. we cant apply for a grant for a gym then spend it on company cars and flights to the US. Often invoices have to be supplied as evidence you have actually spent the money on the agreed project (from my experience of grants anyway).

Maybe with Advantage West Midlands disappearing the money went with it and is now back in the system. Maybe as we didn't finish the work, or within a set time frame, the money was taken back. Both seem reasonable to me and would be much more possible than the misspending of grant money (again, in my experience of grants).

What, they wouldn't produce false invoicing?

AWM no longer exists. It is now up to the council to monitor expenditure.I have some information on this somewhere as I asked for information from the City Council under the FOI Act.As far as I can remember the unspent amount was placed in the Community Fund. It has several directors including Plant,Bratt and a couple more.

A Politician involved in wrongdoing ? - I cant believe that - they are all completely above reproach - apart from those with flats in london and houses with ponds/moats not to mention "mates" working at Canary Wharf.:shifty:

In the last two sets of accounts there is a surplus of about £250k of grant money supposedly sitting there doing nothing. This money is restricted ie ringfenced for certain projects.

It would be interesting to know what the money is for and whether the money is actually still in the bank.

The last available accounts at Companies House were made up to March 2010. The latest set of accounts are overdue.

Good point. A firm I used to work for had some managers doing this. Buying machines worth 6k for 10k and then splitting the extra with the bloke the bought the machine off. Not for a second saying this IS what has happened at VP, but I guess it could be done.
