Rico Out For The Season?

Memphis

Recommended Posts

"Our strike force is nothing without Richards"

Have you not read the sentinel?

Pope said before Saturday's defeat that as a team we're not playing to his strengths - then he did exactly as he'd done in the previous dozen games.

Dodds is vesatile always playing out of position and he did "hit the post" on Saturday.

According to our forwards there's not a problem and they are fully aware of what is wrong with our lack of goals......... Sorted:yes:

:D:D:D

For me it's;

1. Richards

105. Rigg

106. Williamson

107. Pope

1012. Dodds

He just needs to be managed through it for the benefit of the club's long term status.

Clearly if there was any risk to his career he should have the surgery however the club and he must be relatively happy.

With all due respect, footballers aren't the brightest sparks, and I'm sure he would carry on playing until his foot fell off.

From a human point of view, and I've seen it all too often, where people have carried on, despite the advice given, and have caused themselves more long-term damage.

He, and the club, who have a duty of care to him, should think about the long term effects of 'nursing' him through the season.

In other words we nurse him through his season long injury and when he's fit he moves on to another club because we can't afford to keep him.

Im in the wrong profession i think!

To be fair the key and only real person(s) to take note of are the medical professionals and the physio doesn't think there is an issue reading the article.

Seems it's an underlying condition caused by an injury 8 years old!

I'd agree with your comments generally regarding the mental capacity of footballers however would point out Richards appears one of the more intelligent in our squad. I would also imagine he knows he can continue to earn a very good living out of the game for another 4 or 5 years possibly at a higher level.

Just seen this on facebook:

"Striker Marc Richards will require surgery on his persistent ankle injury that has troubled the 29-year-old since pre-season.

See the full story on port-vale.co.uk"

Its another aid to the reason the board need to be removed !!

And if more people got off there fat lazy bums and protested we wouldn't be in this situation
