I was also told a few months ago (the last time he was out injured, September-ish?) that he should really have had an operation then but the club decided against it.

For his own sake, he should have the surgery now.

 

It would be very tempting for him to carry on playing, particularly as he is our main goal threat, but it would be a massive risk to his career.

He just needs to be managed through it for the benefit of the club's long term status.

 

Clearly if there was any risk to his career he should have the surgery however the club and he must be relatively happy.

Pope said before Saturday's defeat that as a team we're not playing to his strengths - then he did exactly as he'd done in the previous dozen games.

 

Dodds is vesatile always playing out of position and he did "hit the post" on Saturday.
