Thoughts and prayers eh! Jean, did you see the footage of a distraught mother screaming into the camera directly at Donald Trump that she didn't want his thoughts and prayers - she wanted her daughter back?

Chilling stuff.

There is nothing that pisses me off more than hearing people give ‘thoughts and prayers’ as though that means anything, you might as well give a like on Facebook and change your profile picture to an assault rifle. Especially when the same people, bible bashing hypocritical republicans who use Jesus as a mascot for hate, who have taken literally tens of millions of dollars off the NRA. McCain for example took nearly $8 million of them. Rubio nearly $4 million, amongst others. All sending thoughts and prayers as though that cleans the blood off their hands.

If it’s from people who are part of the problem then yes.

I think you've chosen the wrong target Andy. It's not those who have chosen to follow a religion with its message of peace that are to blame for this but those who choose to subvert that message that are to blame. Which puts the NRA and ISIS into the same camp.

My 'part of the problem' comment wasnt aimed at all christians, but politicians who give 'thoughts and prayers' and take money of the NRA to do nothing. However, I agree completely, but evangelical christians in the USA have a much bigger impact than in the UK. if you want to be president and say your an atheist, then you will fail. Why else does trump pander to them...im for abortion...im against abortion...im whatever the woman foaming at the mouth on the front row believes. They put Trump in power. The by a vast majority support him and his party. They support the NRA. They attack education and their health service. In fact, i think your comparisons to Isis are fitting, because i think its an excuse to hate.

Ive just seem a video, and It seems too ridiculous to be true. A 13 year old goes into shops to buy alcohol, cigarettes and scratch cards and is refused due to his age. He then walks out of a gun show after purchasing a rifle. How can things have got so twisted?

Just to give some perspective.

3 in 10 Americans say they own guns, 19% are members of the nra. 60% of all gun owners say they are Republican, whereas 77% of members of the nra identify as being republican.

I’ve lived in the USA for nigh on 18 year, admittedly in a state with some of the most strict gun laws in the country, i’ve Never heard a gunshot or seen a gun other than in a policeman’s holster.

For me guns are the root of most/all evil in the USA and tougher gun laws are needed and most Americans want this too, the power of the nra on a capital hill needs to be severely curbed somehow.

Another easily manipulating young man on psychotic drugs shoots up a school, a week after major drills at said school to prepare for such incident.

There'll be another one in about 12 months time, with the same weird patterns and the outpouring of anti-NRA, anti-Trump sentiments from the media.

I can’t quite figure out what you’re saying? The drills played a part? The anti nra sentiment is good/bad?

I thought half of all households owned a gun? Maybe that fits as one person in the household actually ‘owns’ it even if others have access. However the most shocking stat I found was that America owns half the worlds gun, and half of those guns are owned by just 3% of Americans.

Sheer madness. According to the news President Trump seems to be in favour of teachers carrying small arm guns

When you’re talking about giving teachers guns and you can’t see you have a problem. Many countries don’t even arm their everyday police and America wants to arm teachers.
