I'll be wearing dark glasses and a burqa to cover my embarrassment at being seen at the likes of Crawley, Forest Green Rovers and Accrington.

 

I just hope we can get out of this league in an upwards direction within one season.

When you go to FGR take some snapping if you are not a vegetarian.

So here we go again. 52nd season following the Vale. Off to Crawley tomorrow (new ground for me; only about 18 to go)!

 

After 8 years in the Middle East it will be a novelty to have a season ticket! that was never in doubt, but every body has a right to do what they want with their money so no criticism from me for those who choose not to have one.

 

Are we better off than 50 years ago? That was an interesting season; remember the first game of the season watching us lose to Southend. Jamoe scored his first goal that season, we spent most of the season in the bottom four, escaped that but got kicked out of the league at the end of the season anyway and had to apply for re-election !

 

Are we better off now?

I too remember it well!Mathews management and dodgy goings on at the club almost cost us our league status.Onwards and upwards now ,hopefully!!Johnny James.....now he was a grafter and loved by us all!!!

I stated some time ago that I didn't think we could go straight back up and I stand by that but hope to be proven wrong.

 

I think the turnover of players has been too much to expect a promotion campaign, but hopefully with 46 games to go then who knows.

 

I was right behind Brown as manager last season when he took over and I fully expected him to keep us up. Disappointed, yes of course but with what was going on it wasn't surprising. Hopefully with what is becoming his own team with his own stamp on the club he can turn things around.

 

It's going to be another interesting season at the Vale........let's hope this season it's for the right reasons.
