Darren Hughes for me the quickest left back iv seen at the vale nobody out run him watch the ball he put across against derby in the replay at the baseball ground great days.

Apart from Potts, I've seen them all play. Hughes, to me, had nothing but pace. Bromage did well for himself as he actually was a midfielder who didn't make it and re - invented himself as a full back. Ronnie Wilson would have been a cult hero today and was my favourite player in the 60's. Tankard was a ball playing full back, but lacked pace. But, although I never saw him play, how can you ignore a member of the "Steele Curtain" ? I think I would listen to my elders and vote for Potts. They can't all be wrong.

Darren Hughes for me. Great going forward and as a defender even though he was often out of position his pace got him out of trouble.

Very close between Tankard and Hughes for me and went for Hughes in the end purely because he had the extra pace. I know Tankard and his wife, thoroughly nice guy and still lives in North Staffs.
