Time to come back?

Spunk Trumpet

Recommended Posts

I went last week against Crewe and decided then that I would go this week. I then had my drunken (and somewhat embarrassing) moment on here on Thursday, and decided not to. My Cousin called me today, and I did go to the match.

In the moments of sobriety, the way I look at things is this; 12 months ago, would I have accepted a situation where 9 directors had been reduced to 1 (Mike Lloyd) and we had fresh investment? The answer is yes.

Do I trust Lloyd and Deakin? Certainly not. Do I think they have cleverly and quietly gone about a coup and taken over the club from the inside? I certainly do.

I then find myself with two options:

1) Give up Vale completely because, lets face it Lloyd, Deakin and Bluesky are now in a position of great strength and removing them will be nigh on impossible.

or

2) Go back, be proud of everyones achievements of the last 12 months in doing what they have done. Know that I've played a small part in that also, and start to enjoy the football.

My decisions made, and I'm going with number 2.

I've not seen enough to convince me to go back yet. We are getting a lot more spin now than ever before. In fact we seem to be gaining more in overheads than we are getting as investment. This American deal just doesn't add up, and this Miller character has a very murky football past according to the powers of Google.

Truth is I don't trust Lloyd or Deakin too.

The question I would ask is this:

'Is the position of strength they appear to be in necessarily a bad thing?'

As i say, once Bratt and Oliver are gone then my part is done. I have no intention in missing any more vale than i have to,yes im sure we will be shafted yet again but i will cross that bridge when i get there. Untill then i will return as soon as them 2 have gone.

On that day i will hit burslem and will invite any of you good people who activley supported the change.

As Ghandi was once asked by a reporter "What do you think of the new united vale?"

Ghandi "I think it would be a good idea"

Yer no Burt I was thinking the same thing,ok they are not Vale fans to start with but it will grow on them,I see not one Vale fan as acused them wanting to build houses on the ground, infact no one as acused the new investors of doing anything wrong to PVFC. The situation we find our selves in is people think it's to good to be true,

Fair comment Cheeky but what does your Dad (Fairportnick)think?.. Has he cut you out of the 'will'.

I hope that you are making the right decision mate. I'll go back when the mist clears a little and it smells a little more pleasant, if you get my drift.

if Mother Teresa came down from heaven wearing a Vale shirt with 20 million to invest in players only that it wouldn't be long before someone questioned if she'd been kicked out of heaven for nicking the money!:)

Spot on Tosh but thats been the mentality for a long time now.

They lost all rationality a long time ago and they've been nothing but a wart on this club and our attempt to go forward and achieve promotion.

What on earth does non attendence and protests go to achieve? Meanwhile, despite constant personal and unfounded abuse the board have come through to bring in fresh investment.

I admit that fan pressure is important to keep the board on their toes, and I believe it was fan pressure that got rid of Glover and got us an experienced Manager, finally.

This time however, feelings were made known at the AGM and everyone knew change was needed, but dangerously, many fans tried to force this change with no real idea of what would be next should the board suddenly pack up and go. Consequently, you were risking, had you got your way, administration, 15 points deduction, and Port Vale following the likes of Luton, Wrexham, and soon to be Plymouth.

Now I hope, finally, you will stop vindicating everything and anything which goes on at the club and concentrate on achieving promotion. We have by no means set the league alight this season but we are 7th. We have yet to hit form and there is still a lot to work on, yet we are still in a playoff zone. With some much needed harmony at the club and everyone pulling in the same direction, there is no reason why we can't go up this season.

Up The Vale.

Up The Vale.

Nice thoughts Nippy. Harmony though comes through from the boardroom and they can't even get the investment facts made clear. First its 8 million then its £400,000 in cash the rest is by a series of vague sponsorships and then it suddenly becomes only £150,000 from Blue Sky and an elected director. Then £100,000 from Lemon Top our CEO, of course for a seat on the board and now a cool £250,000 from the unknown Mr Miller who rides into town like Clint Eastwood to take his position, possibly as Chairman. Forgive me if I am cynical and won't just 'get behind the lads'.

I would love to support my team on the pitch but can't bring myself to 'get behind the lads in the boardroom'. Quite simply they may not all be corrupt but I'm pretty sure a couple of them are.

Simon,I have the up most respect for you and I don't like bringing up the past but,MO which we know you were heavily involved with from the start told a lie at the BGWC ,he said he would pay the going rate for anyone's shares except the directors,he offered ROB LEE 10K less than what his shares were worth,ok RB said give me your best offer and MO should have said the going rate which he didnt,we will never know if RL would have still sold his shares to GO if MO had offered him the full rate ...... the rest his history as to what happened at the EGM ... So I ask you, didnt MO lie with saying he will give the going rate to everyone except the directors ?

If you were going to buy an item for £200 but someone said they would sell you exactly the same for £150 would you pay £200 or £150?

I will be back as soon as Barry and Paul chuckle have officially left. I have to say that if you look hard enough for long enough you could find something you dont like. Ask Leeds fans about ken bates and his dealings!

Roll on the AGM so I can go back. Principles intact and ready for another season of highs and lows following the mighty vale.

Whether we like it we now have to give Perry Deakin and Mike Lloyd the benefit of the doubt regarding the Bluesky investment.

Only time will tell if it will come up trumps.

In the meantime, surely its now time for those who are staying away to come back?

Lets leave the politics to one side now and get Vale Park rocking again.

well if the ****** in the boardroom want the fans back they need to drop the prices that might help a little.....
