If you think Horton is better than Sir John there is definitely something wrong with you. I know you supported v2001 but that's a whole new level of daft!

Oh and 'later managed Manchester City'

There's one thing Rudge had that Horton didn't - a Championship club budget, courtesy of ITV Digital. It was only when ITV Digital went bust that the wheels started to come off.

I love Vale because i just do .

Years and years of wanting them do well against the odds .

Anybody can be given lots of money and achieve something but try do it whenu have nothing but grit heart and determination .

Over the years Vale have created some great stories.

I like a good story .

Last season wasnt a good story it was a tale of a series of unfortunate events .

Thats gone now and we look forwards to a new story where hopefully the new players bring another fantastic story but if not i will still love the Vale no matter what .

I love Vale because of the fans ,u think about it these days u can just sit there with match after match on your kodi and never venture to the ground give them a shout a shout they dont deserve at times and other times a bigger crowd they deserve as they have really played well .

So for the hardcore to keep going well it says a lot about them .

What great people so deserving of Vale winning big cup ties and putting new bums on seats .

I went Vale with me dad when lorne street was concrete and i must have loved going as always went with him on school nights ,didnt go weekend games as playing football with me friends .

Always love Vale but be nice c performances from all players which tell us they love us .

Erm

Rudge was sacked in January 1999.

The lion's share of the ITV digital money went to clubs who played in what is now the Championship. ITV Digital ran during the 2001/02 season. We were relegated to the third tier in 2000.

My mistake, it was predecessors On Digital that went bust in 1997 and I conflated the two.

rustic gardens > landscaped or manicured gardens

mongrel dogs > pedigree dogs

the jalopy you can just about afford in your teens > car you buy in your forties

taking your kids camping > taking your kids on a package holiday

Port Vale > any soulless plastic member of Rupert Murdoch's circus

I'm a cradle to grave Valiant.

It's in my DNA.

I do not like the behaviour of some of our past and present owners, managers and players...

but...

I will always love Port Vale Football Club - even if it was playing at the bottom of Ivy House near where Causley Brook enters the River Trent

I've loved Vale ever since I saw them beat Chesterfield 7-1 in my first ever match at Vale Park.We had a crowd of around 10,000 for that match and I can remember goals from the great Cliff Portwood,Terry Miles,Dennis Fidler and Stan Steele.
