The Run In

I decided to make a table to show who's playing who in the run in. I only included up to Gillingham to be realistic, however I notice Northampton haven't got the best of run ins so although sitting pretty on 49 points they could still get dragged into it.

 

I do believe the usual '50 points' thing won't cut it this year, but I do feel we can get out of it - that heavily relies on the next 5 games however.

 

The other sides have probably more difficult fixtures - and less of them too. Oldham's fixtures look particularly worrying (for them, obviously).

 

It's also quite interesting to note that from halfway through these fixtures, all of these teams sync up to playing home and away at the same times.

 

I assume we'll play the games against Rochdale and Walsall on the Tuesdays of the 4th and 25th of April. That means we've not got many breaks - which could ultimately be our downfall.

 

We do, however, have a couple of 6 pointers and games in hand, which most of the others do not. It's all in our own hands.

I think you could include upto Wimbledon if you look at the teams they need to play. If they where to loose 4-5 on the run then they are in trouble as well. Agree I don't think 50 pts will be enough to stay up probably 52-53.

If we don't win any more away games we deserve to go down. In 30 years of supporting the Vale I've never known a worse season than this away from home.

I've just got in from the pub and for some reason I've got the tune from the Great Escape in my head. I'm obviously pissed as I'm feeling confident we can win our next three and put ourselves in with a hope of beating the drop. Looking forward to tomorrow night. At worst I can have another good drink after the match in Boslem. I love Friday night games.

I did the same thing. I think the bottom three have secured their future in League 2 next season. We really need to beat Shrewsbury. Many of the teams around us still have to play Bolton, Sheff Utd and Fleetwood as we do. I fancy that we will survive with Oldham or was it Bury I had going down with 49 pts. I predicted 53 for Vale. All hypothetical though. If we lose on Friday then it all goes out of the window. VTID.

As you say, tonight is important, I have Oldham going down in preference to Bury with my optimist hat on.

We've scored in all the last 5 games, and scored 3 in one of those.

 

We're in with a decent chance of winning tonight, and the site wouldn't "implode".

 

It's amazing how better things can look with a bit of positivity.

This is OVF you can't look at things with a bit of positivity, or the site WILL implode lol. Seriously I think we will get something from tonight but suspect it's just going to be a point rather than the 3 would love to be proved wrong though
