"The Sentinel is unable to bring you pictures of tonight's friendly because our photographers have been banned from home games by Port Vale chairman Norman Smurthwaite.

For the last month the Vale chairman has also denied The Sentinel access to press conferences and interviews with the manager and players. He has also instructed his staff not to include us in press releases issued by the club. He has also made clear that we will not be allowed into the press box during home matches this season.

We are proud of our coverage of Port Vale, a relationship that stretches back to the formation of the club. We will continue to report on the club honestly and fairly – whether or not that coverage meets with the chairman's approval."

This BIG publication should accept its shortcomings, arrange a meet with Norman and sort it out instead of making these negative "Statements" and

A statement of fact is just that... a statement of fact.... being positive or negative is irrelevant.

What they seem to report is fact, why it happened isnt part of that fact, it may be the cause but the report that they have been banned isnt negative its fact.

Perhaps they cant "kiss and tell" for fear of some legal action.... but hey... you seem to know... so spill the beans... let us all know.

I think it's childish on both sides, why can't they sit down and thrash out what's bugging them like adults, and keep it in the club, we want football news not these childish spats .
