Sorry if anyone else has posted this and I have missed it, but..

 

 

Just wanted to send good wishes and congratulations to Joe Anyon on getting back into the game as keeper at Scunthorpe after having heart surgery caused by a problem that occuried suddenly and could have been life-threatening.

 

There is an interesting full-page article in The Football League Paoer including interview with Joe sadly the Vale don't get a mention but just the same, good to see the 28-year-old back with us and hopefully he will have a successful future at Scunny.

A real shame how downhill it went here after his injury. When he first came in he looked like a ready made Mark Goodlad replacement.

i used to have heart trouble when he played as well, but seriously good luck Joe.

I think Joe went backwards after a good start as did Martin and Johnson. Also lots of other players who came through the ranks never made it at all. I am becoming minded to agree with people who say Vale had major coaching issues for many years because I can see in the present team a vast improvement.

I think any animosity toward Joe is misplaced, it didn't work out for him here is the bottom line.
