He has a point though. Disagree with Mo and it's because of his skin colour.

 

I work and live in a multi cultural enviroment and would NEVER not talk or disagree with somebody because they have a different skin colour than myself.As a person i quite admire Mo for his business skills and his wealth due to hardwork,Thats why it riled me to be called Racist and it's a title used to often on OVF just to try and beat somebody in an arguement because you can't answer there questions politely and with Facts.

I was called a racist yesterday for a non racist issue. I support PVFC, I agree with B&G and SEO and the remark was made towards me from a pro board poster. However, I refrained from starting my own thread to diverse attention ......

I think it's silly to call someone a racist just cause they don't support Mo's bid, but that doesn't mean there isn't a racist element for some people - Stoke is quite a racist place!

 

I'm talking about the "I think we need a change but I don't want Mo Chaudry...there's just something I don't quite like about him" brigade. I've not seen that much on here but it's quite a common line on Praise and Grumble!

 

Am I missing something? If I am I'll apologise now. But how is the comment in the quote above racist? No mention of colour, ethnicity or culture.

It's not overtly racist, you're right. It's just how I read it...I might be completely wrong but I suspect it is the case in a good amount of cases.

It's interesting that the level of outrage when someone uses 'Frog' or 'Kraut' is fairly minimal compared to the worst words that were much more common in the past like the n@@@@@ word, or the word used by racists for someone from Pakistan, but nobody objects shortening British to Brit.

I'm not sure Yank can be truly racist as the USA is made up of people from other countries, often only a couple of generations ago when they went there.
