Why do we keep having the same inane argument about Mo?

The guy wants to buy the club and drag it into reality from head to toe.

He's not going to make millions out of it, and if he believes he will then he's dafter than I imagine.

Neither is he going to simply throw millions at it, he'd be a fool to do so.

What he IS going to do is turn the business side into a profitable organisation, professionally run with quality people backing it and running it.

He's not going to build houses on it (Despite what I say Tim. ;)), nor is he going to run it into the ground.

He wants to leave a lasting legacy for the people of the North End of the City.

Yes sooner or later his cash will run out, or he'll get bored, grow old otr whatever......but what can he do whilst he's here, thats the rub.

I go with Mo, in the scheme of things I can't see the board taking us onward financially, they've had 'their turn', now let's give Mo a go.

Why are we being criticised by someone who isn't even a Vale fan about our dislike of our useless and lying board?

Think what you like mate, but you have no clue about the real goings on at our club.

It must be us......happened at the AGM with Stoke fan Richard Gibbons,he gave us a lecture

Unfortunately, I have to disagree with the use of phrase "minority" at the end of your post.

Every poll and survey on here suggests that the vast majority of users are discontent with the board.

Some recent polls (which are anonymous and one vote per user):

Do you trust the board?

86% responded "definitely not"

So you trust Bill Bratt to act in the best interests of the club?

79% responded "No"

So, the weight of anti-board posts on here is such, because it reflects the majority view.

Of course, the alternative view to the majority is still posted on here (it is an open forum as long as you obey our Ts and Cs) but because (as polls above indicate) around 8 in 10 of our users is anti-board, pro-board pronouncements tend to provoke vigorous debate.

Interestingly, on other Port Vale fan sites - Port Vale Online, Vital Port Vale etc a majority of postings and comment on there are similarly pro-change and anti-board. It's not just this website.

We, as moderators, will clamp down on anyone who breaks our site terms and conditions. Having a strong opinion on the future of the football club does not constitute breaking our rules.

Incidently, OVF membership stands at over 7,000 now, even allowing for some members not being Vale fans, that compares favourably with the home support at Vale Park. Of course, not everyone uses the Internet and we do not reflect all Vale opinions due to that, but I think over 7,000 users is a pretty good sample of the Port Vale audience.

How the hell would you know? ;)

IMO the mods need to take a much tougher line and clamp down on the behaviour of certain individuals on this forum

I don't agree with that. Idiots have a voice too, just gotta cross your fingers and hope everyone else sees them as such.

Fred I know this fred is about message boards, but your point is spot on we need to "argue" about these things and progress. If somebody can show me that, I will do a Bernie Slaven.

Praise the lord, someone who gets it.

To all those knocking Mo, please read BHF's post very carefully and absorb it. Please.

Go on just tell us which one you are then, I don't like guessing games

I'm either a member of the board, a mole planted by a board member, Bill Bratts love child etc etc

Obviously you're Frank Clarke.

(Btw I think there are a lot of similarities in Doughty and Mo, both local successful businessmen in other areas, Doughty took over the club for a very small price when it was near to administration but has since had to endure endless abuse due to a perceived lack of investment and exactly what motive(s) he has for owning the club e.g. Sell off the ground for development etc etc. I won't go into that can of worms though as it's not really relevant and wouldn’t bother Vale fans anyway.)

Firstly, Mo isn't trying to get it on the cheap (imo) he's offering the same money (per share) for a L2 club that the V2001 board paid for a play-off chasing L1 club (or was it Championship relegation fodder - I forget). He's also offering to buy £1.2m of unsold shares which would mean he'll have put more in than any other shareholder...and if he didn't want control of how his money was spent I believe this lot would bite his hand off.

Secondly, I for one would be interested in the story of Doughty.
