Dave i think people have just become desensitised to it, we sign players like kids pick sweets up in a shop...we sign them, dont play them & then they disapear.

Personally id like to see a rule brought in where if you sign a player they have to start each game they are fit & available for & play for at least 45mins. That would stop clubs like us taking the wet stuff out of the loan system.

If i was manager at another club & vale csme asking for a loan id laugh at them given our abysmal treatment generally of loan players.

Either we are poorly scouting them so once we have them & find they are no better than what we have we dont play them or we are just dumb & dont give them an opportunity.

Amazing that this has received no discussion whatsoever on OVF

I think the two players may well be first eleven or at least subs who get a game.

I'm glad the names have not been leaked, for the reasons expressed on the Omar B thread - it increases the chance of losing them, and what is the use of knowing that we nearly got player x. I'd prefer a nice surprise when someone or maybe two have signed and the deal is done.

What is there to discuss? Seen it all before, heard it all before and nowt happens, and if it does it will be a bench warmer who never gets a game

Been there, seen it and not holding my breath. We need another Innis style player who shores up the fragile defence.

However, think we will end up with 2 strikers if 2 players do actually come in. Then both of them will play in the reserves and keep the new extra long bench warm during the next few games.

Dave I love you honest loyalty but I've given up trusting a word that comes out of Vale Park these days. Norman's ideas of 'building the buzz' actually has the opposite affect on me.

He sounds like Jim Bowen off 'Bullseye' at time with his ''Lets show you what you could have had'' quotes. Actions speak louder than words Smurf!

What I find odd is that we didn't have any replacements lined up when Inniss went back to Palace.

I notice Crawley renewed Wood's loan and Oldham signed Gerrard from Huddersfield - both centre backs who have played in the Championship.

Surely we should have detailed reports and dossiers on potential signings, accompanied by a list of players who might be of value to us, rather than running around watching games at the last minute before deadline day.

I still say two good players in the right positions and we might not have lost our last three games. The margins are very tight in this league and that extra bit of quality makes a huge difference.
