I think it's a general consideration for anything online.

 

I've been looking after OVF for nineteen years now and I am completely aware of the impact having content available for hundreds, sometimes thousands of people to read can have.

 

I think it's as simple as - if you are publishing any material online, on any site and any format, think and read through what you are about to post before you hit the send button.

It's one of the oddest developments of the internet that so many people feel the need to "share" their thoughts, emotions, details and locations.

 

I can't help feeling it's an ego trip, albeit a rather pathetic one.

 

When you read someone has bothered to write "got fed up of waiting for a bus so popped into Costa" or similar, it seems strange to me.....even stranger when they take a picture of their drink!!

 

Also a bit odd is if you are in a pub and someone's mate goes to the toilet or bar, the person left there invariably reaches for their phone. I'm not sure what for, but it's as if we've lost the ability to sit still and think about things even for ten seconds.

Excellent read that. I barely use twitter these days and when I do, it's mainly vale related.

It's 2015 for god's sake, how would anyone in their right mind make a comment like that? It beggars belief. I get that some people go out of their way to be outraged but that is too stupid for words.

Reading Folky's article, it's a fine example of the fact there are ****s on both sides of the fence. For example, I find some of the things that have been posted on some threads over the past month deplorable, but I wouldn't ship them in to their boss.
