I met Micky Adams last week at Nantwich Town vs Tranmere. Introduced myself as a Vale fan, said thanks for the promotion season etc... We chatted for quite a while, he seemed genuinely interested in how the Vale were doing. Suggested he felt he had taken the Vale as far as he could and feared the worst if Pope goes in the summer.

I still think we would have gone down if he had stayed.

Wonder why he fears the worst if Pope goes,as good as Pope is we have risen from the bottom four to where we are now the majority of it without Pope.

Maybe because his main (only?!) tactic was to lump the ball up to Pope?!

 

Other managers in the division used to say,we all know how Port Vale play,they just lump it up to popey, now all that's changed and Tom himself says that he can't wait to play in Page's system.
