The 20 fiercest rivalries in English football?

Vale v Stoke doesn't get a mention but the Welsh derby Cardiff v Swansea,Chester v Wrexham,Hereford v Shrewsbury and Grimsby v Lincoln do?

I think it may be because we rarely play one another while the teams mentioned are frequently in the same division as one another. Also we have other local rivals such as Crewe, Walsall, Shrewsbury, while Stoke's local rivals are Wolves, West Brom and Derby. It was the case as well that many local people attended the home games of both Stoke and the Vale.

TP....spot on....hate too strong, dislike more appropriate and, dare I say "jealous of" nowadays? (Still like seeing you lot get beat and your lot moaning and groaning about things!) Makes me laugh when some of your "younger additions" to the fan base try and laud it over us Port Fail fans....they obviously weren't around a few years ago! Still think it is a fierce rivalry though......mentally!

Who cares what some jumped up journalist writes. All areas have fierce rivalries but unless you are from the Potteries people wont understand the depth of divided passion that exists in Stoke on Trent.
