Dickinson's un-Real Deal

I don't think he's done too bad up until now and he was without our two main central midfielders today.. Today was very bad though, let's hope he learned from it..

I think yesterday showed the people who moan about Lines,O'Connor and Pope how we miss them and although I like the idea of bringing in younger players it is essential that we sign Pope and O'Connor up for next season if we want to make progress

Page is not the answer. Tactically worse than Adams. Centre midfield - brown(37 year old) can't pass with Dickinson (left back who can't pass) is not the answer. Where is Byron Moore? I'm refuse to go again in Louis dodds puts the shirt on again

Some people are unbelievable, yesterday was the worst I have seen a Page side play I admit BUT that was our first home defeat in the league under him so give him a chance.

You mean the cheap chancers we've panicked and brought in to reduce the wage bill in the summer? If they were that talented they'd be in and replacing the current deadwood now.

Don't believe that. Page has seen enough of the squad to be able to judge what his best 11 is . He chooses though to continually select his favourites and the "clique" that seems to have formed inside the squad. He also hasn't convinced me that he has the tactical nous to play players in correct positions. I honestly fear for our future if Page carries on like yesterday. Some say it's early days but the feeling around Vale Park, even before kick off yesterday was one that we are struggling.

Glover was charging up and down the empty Lorne St terrace and seemed to be having a big say in tactics"..............we all know how successful that was last time!

His signature was all over yesterday's performance, was it a coincidence? It's unbelievable how he's managed to worm his way back in!

Then when Pages choice is just a load of inexperienced kids that he doesn't rate where do we go from there? Who has signed this new generation, the Chairman or the Manager?

Page has set every team up to reduce goals conceded since he took over - someone in a coaching role has told the entire team not to press the ball until its in our half. This works quite well away from home but we should be ten yards further up the field at home where we should be putting teams like Coventry to the sword. It also invites pressure which we have shown over the past two seasons that we can't handle defensively.

It was noticeable yesterday that they tried to keep the ball on the floor (probably down to Pope being injured tbh) but Dickinson can't pass to save his life in my opinion (Thought we'd got Griff back yesterday) and you can't expect Brown to do it all.

So you think Page has no input? What agreement was there when Norm "offered" him the job? I am saying that there are players in the squad who are not getting as fair a run out as some of the absolutely obvious weak links in the Team. Don't need to name them as everyone else on here knows exactly who is capable of getting Vale success and who is not pulling anything like their weight.

Honestly would it make such a huge difference if some of the players Norm brought in were not successful? They cannot be any worse than some in the elite squad of Page's. We will only see if and when they are brought out of their cotton wool blankets! Yesterday was pathetic from the start and no one could have done worse than Dicko, Ben and Birchall. Fact.

Byron Moore is rubbish, weve seen that this season. Dicko is absalutley terrible, but the 37 year old in brown had another very good game.

I can understand that Dicko was played in front of the back 4 to break up opposition attacks. The problems arose, however, when he had the ball. He would be the first to admit that he is no playmaker and that was very evident yesterday. At h-t, I would have taken both strikers off, brought Nimely and Campion on and swapped Dicko and McGivern; see how that went for 20 minutes and then adjusted to suit. Instead, we had a return to the Jurassic period
