I'd say more Yeovil>Estonia, as yeovil have a team that is full of actual professional footballers, whereas Estonia's best player sits on the bench for Blackpool, and half weren't professional

Against a lot of crap teams that a player of his 'supposed' quality should be doing. In terms of his performances, in general, they have been well below par for a long time in my opinion. He may well have scored the winning goal tonight but his overall performance against a poor team has been cringe-worthy at times.

 

Not very often I do, but I completely agree with you, Rooney was c rap the free kick should have been saved , but still he could have scored two hat tricks in his last two games for him not being big headed and over rated.

Wrong choice of players by hodgson and it became quite clear after about 15 mins. With no out and out wingers on ala Chamberlain, townsend, sterling who were all excellent in their last games we were crossing long and high balls not beating the full back and cutting back for the forwsrds. So if you start like that lambert has to start too.

 

If not chuck those three in for delph, Henderson and rooney/lallana .

 

Roy out for me , hes terrible and uninspiring, part of me wants us not to qualify as i know my pig headedness will force me to go to France in 2016 and be gutted and outraged when we go out in the group stages having spent a fortune to get out there and attend a game.

The problem today was that he missed chances that you'd expect a striker to score, especially a striker of his quality. The free kick was ok but the keeper should have saved it. Maybe it was just an off day but if were to challenge better sides then he needs to take more chances.

Don't disagree. He could (and can) play a lot better. It's not like we have a huge number of strikers pushing for starting places. He is the best we've got. He will probably end up as Man Utd' and England's top all time goal scorers. You don't do that by just being a poor to average player.

Terrible anti-Rooney prejudice shown by some posters. Estonia played at least 8 at the back and would have been happy with a goalless draw. England 's mid field was very slow in getting the ball to the front men. I thought Henderson was particularly at fault in this respect. Several questions: Why was Welbeck not playing at centre forward? Why was Delph at left back with Baines at Left wing? Wilshere showed a few good touches but frequently ran into trouble and lost the ball. The whole team lacked shape but was presumably playing to orders. Is there a worse commentator than Townsend?

Did any one else hear the comments about Hoddle as a manager by one of his ex-players - he was more skilful than any of the players and could demonstrate the skills but the players did not learn from him.

Oh no I agree, he is a quality player but considering he's meant to be so good he should be scoring the chances like he got tonight. That's the problem for me, there isn't really anyone else.
