Its never about what he has spent but is possibly about what he has spent it on, people dont go to see smurf or his money they go to watch and support the players/team... he has to get away from the idea its personal, about what he does or doesnt do, its all about the end product... get that right and life becomes a lot easier.

Interesting theory

We were between 6th and 9th in the later part of last season and the gates were going down and it did not get any easier SMURF

May I respectfully suggest that performances at home with the exception of yesterday have been....iffy,....repeat yesterdays win and endeavour and the crowds will respond, go back to defending the second half and playing hoofball and they will dwindle to the hardcore.

Could not agree more

That plan worked for us in League 2 but most teams have bigger stronger and more gifted defenders hence not working now although Barnsley did resort to that at times yesterday

I am considering 3 very interesting/exciting options to try and eradicate that part of our games and who knows!

Hopefully it includes offering Mark Marshall a 2 year extension! :D

Is that code for 3 new players??

Whilst you are on and we know you aren't a never ending wallet but I would really offer Marshall an extended contract asap:yes:

The atmosphere was decent yesterday, and was helped by Barnsley bringing a sizeable and vocal following.

In simple terms, Vale's noisier element turn up when there's someone to sing at - which in my opinion makes for a better atmosphere.

I'm sure if you ask any player whether they prefer a feisty, up-for-it crowd or a lame MK Dons-type crowd and they would say the former.

If we were ever to squeeze into the Championship, we'd have decent atmospheres for 90% of home games due to the great travelling support of clubs like Derby, Wednesday, Leeds, Wolves, Forest, Boro, as well as more localish ones like Bolton, Blackburn, Wigan etc.

You know its all about confidence, get the ball rolling get a few streaky goals/clean sheets/wins and the crowds will come AND get behind the boys.

We will need to be promoted to keep Mark next season

Considering how he was stitch up you could not meet a better committed and well adjusted young man but we need others to replicate his work rate

Disappointing but understandable. Keep up this form and he'll have no problem getting a Championship club. Shame we can't make a few bob of it though.
