America Pre season

The players went to the club last week to apply for their visas for the America tour!

I don't think they did, seen as though a few of them are already in Vegas.

In my opinion, the board should look at whatever deal has been proposed through fresh eyes; both the tour of the USA and the plastic turf deal could turn out to be good for the club in the log term. They may also turn out to be a load of bull, but it needs investigating.

Turning things down just because the old board arranged them would be stupid; take the deal on its merits.

Personally, I feel that the US trip should be canned, but there could be life in the Ameriturf sponsorship. If they want to sponsor us to provide some decent training facilities for over the winter and it won't cost us anything, why not?

From the point of view of sponsorship, I've no problem.

However... from the point of view that AmeriTurf want two seats on the board, I have a little problem with that.

Gary Hooper would likely be one of the new directors. Brian Melzack possibly the other. If this is the best for the Vale, then ok. I'm just worried that these two individuals are looking for a way of wielding power at a football club, whichever club that might be and I am not sure this is in the best interests of Port Vale.

The investment is a load of bull, its just a something conjured up by Bill Bratt.

I would have thought that they'd be able to get a tourist pleasure/business visa, seeing as they will just be playing College sides and it's all very amateurish, in the sense that the games are friendlies.

I can't see GR having his application accepted though.

Would you risk flying all that way without being sure? Trust me. ;)
