Odd statement though. "It has been suggested we lack ambition. Next week the new home strip will be available". I couldn't care less about the new home strip, NS. I'd rather we got round to replacing the players we've lost.

Yes ATM things are not going to plan with the signings however there is time to get the players whom Micky wants . If teams wish to be silly on the wages front what are we to do ? Huntington did not want to leave his current club we tried to force one . West car jumped for the golden goose and Mary left for Scunthorpe due to being able to improve his football career :) . Hugil left once again for the money . If we paid top whack wages for every player we would probably end up with two signings so we need to be shrewd .

 

I want to see four or 5 good players coming in bolstered by a couple of long term loans , hopefully this will still happen as there is still time . Come the season ko I will then sit in judgement of who has or hasn't done their bit .

 

Ps, a week in football can change a lot so fingers crossed a couple of initial quality signings will see the new ten game tickets flying off the shelves .

I have a feeling he does so as he feels the critisism is unwarranted.

He doesn't have to answer to any of us. Nothing has happend over the summer to make me in the slightest bit concerned.

Some of you really shouldn't bother supporting the Vale. Spouting but negative rubbish that the chairman feels he has to answer to. He doesn't have to defend himself but clearly feels like he should!

The statement by smurf has made me question him more than anything else so far. It's absolutely ridiculous he releases an official statement about a fan blowing off steam on a message board. Go on any other teams message board. I challenge you to find one where a fan hasn't had a grumble about something. Do their chairmen reply officially to them? I had a read of the Crewe forum the ore day. A few were moaning about their academy, which is their life blood, and others had a grumble about their chairman taking money out. Did he respond with an official statement. I dare say you don't even know who their chairman is, yet I bet their fans have heard of smurf. It's a crazy, embarrassing statement, and just draws negative attention again to the club which ignoring it wouldn't have done. What if someone from the club hears a fan having a moan in the pub? Call a press conference?

Having said that, we are in a far better situation than under V2001 and Mold.

I'm guessing you haven't read Sunderlands official statement regarding Newcastle signing Jack Colback! That was far more embarrassing than this and that's from a premier league team with a huge fan base..

Pull your head out of your back end and realise that the Internet now dictates everything. If you don't think that players and staff from clubs read fans forums then you are naive.

If you felt you were getting a rough deal after saving something from going down and pumping £££ of your own personal hard earnt wealth into it then wouldn't you want to put your point across!?

Every single fans forum, message board and pub have people moaning. It's ridiculous to answer them, especially when half are WUMs and trolls. People will moan in all jobs and enterprises. I hated V2001, but they had skin thicker than a rhino, which is something smurf needs. I don't even know what point you are making about the internet dictating everything. It can be a powerful tool when harnessed properly, but that doesn't mean you have to respond to every moan that you read. Most people wouldn't have been aware of the post until it was advertised in the statement.

I appreciate smurf for what he has done, and have been one who has grumbled about him. We are 100 times better off now than two years ago. I just think such statements are ridiculous.

It was only a daft post amongst hundreds of others, in an internet dominated by stupid people and porn. It only became a big issue once it was given credibility with an official statement.
