This time next week

Recommended Posts

I wrote this earlier in the week to post, decided to hold it until tuesday and change the title to this time tomorrow

This time next week it will all be over.... whatever the result.... board in or board out.... I would just like to say....

Thank you....

B&G Originators.

For their effort and dedication from the start of the campaign, for the selfless application, time, effort, finance and sheer sticking power.

NLV

For picking up the baton and trying to change what is to what should/could be, no back stabbing, slurs, whispers, innuendos, suggestion or name calling. Just open and honest, straight forward, direct dialogue and debate.

SeO

The thin black and white line. The hardest choice to make for any Vale fan yet that choice has been made, with sorrow and sadness. I rejoice in your dogged determination.

The Old Sage coffin dodgers march.

An absolutely magnificent show of solidarity and support for change. Seeing all those supporters marching to the ground brought a tear to this old eye.... Outstanding.

To the board I offer my condolences , win or lose the vote you lose. Your seemingly insane pursuit of self has broken the back of the club we love, it has broken the hearts of many and will break you.

To Mo and LB.... what can I say.... I think you are insane. To stick with it after all that has been said and done seems to me to be a little unhinged. I mean no offense.

A very poignant post and I would echo the sentiments expressed wholeheartedly. It's been a long, hard road but we are within touching distance of our goal. I for one am so glad that I don't have to follow up my threat of deserting Vale Park next season and I look forward to cheering the team on, seeing decent football and knowing that the team in the boardroom know what they're doing and will be steering the club towards the Championship and not the Conference, which is where Messrs. Bratt, Jackson et al. would've taken us. If any of those "gentleman" are viewing can I also say that it's not too late to do the right thing and back the the motion to do away with the 24.9% rule.

Everyone who has contributed should be so proud. Only last night in "Scrimmies" Kings Head-Smallthorne I had a bloke telling me there was no way Robbie would come off the fence. I told him that I was at BGWC on Wed and Mo had said he was quietly confident that RW would vote. He replied to me with some sort of grunt. Cant wait to see him now. Brings me to the question of where have those few wind up merchants that post on here gone? Its all gone quiet over there!

I went to the meeting the other night and was quite apprehensive at one point as the turnout was lower than the previous one. Had fans been swayed by the Chatterley Whitfield nonsense ? I mentioned to a few that the maths didn't stack up and wasn't confident of getting > 50% at the EGM. However, late on in the evening I got the feeling from the stage that the RW proxy was in the bag, which would be the key to winning.

All credit to those behind the various initiatives, NLV, SEO and B&G, I shook Birdy's hand the other night and offer the same to the rest.

However, let's save the celebrations for Wednesday, having been to a previous AGM there is an element of the old guard that only know how to vote one way. So let's wait until the votes are counted and it is certain.

Only then can we look forward to next season.

Dear Cobridgewhite,

My humble apologies but I am sure you will now appreciate the necessity of my proceeding with caution until the formal announcement was made. I know I was a bit sharp when pressed on the RW point at the meeting and I did instantly regret being so. However do enjoy today and the bank holiday weekend.

Regards
