So at last the travellers move their 30 caravans from Birchenwood fields which allows the Ladsanddads to resume their football tournament but creates a problem in Congleton, where they have parked up on Airbags International?

Some issues that have come to light during this latest invasion and have been raised by one of the residents via the Sentinel - Vehicle Tax - are we really sure that all the vehicles were taxed? How can they be when there cannot be an address for the registered keeper? Insurance - Are we really sure the vehicles were covered by insurance AND the drivers were covered by that insurance? Failure to display number plates - this is required by law on vehicles and towed trailers. Seat Belts - required by law to be worn by all persons in a moving vehicle. Child Seats - required by law for children under certain heights and ages. Vehicle Test Certificates - otherwise known as MOT. Did those vehicles requiring them have such certificates? Some of them did not look in roadworthy condition - were they checked. Illegal parking - those that parked on a council car park in Longton - were they fined for non-payment? I don't want laws that discriminate against anybody,I just want them equally enforced. Litter - littering is an offence. Were any travellers prosecuted for littering? Strange that the rest of us can be prosecuted for dropping a fag end! Urinating and defecating in a public place. Against the law and a real danger to public health. Anybody charged? Income Tax - we are required to pay this by law and evading it is a crime. The travellers are obviously working (tarmac and scrap left on site). Any tax paid? Trespass - whilst a civil offence, if the trespasser does not leave when asked by the land owner (in this case, the council) a court can issue an order of removal in short order. Did they get one? I don't want laws that discriminate against ANYBODY. I just want them equally and fairly enforced.

Agreed...the police should raid these sites and all untaxed/uninsured/unMOTd/etc vehicles should be towed away and disposed of as would happen to anyone else

However, I am willing to speculate that they'd be able to get around this under EU law/human rights legislation that these vehicles are their homes etc and they are entitled to a family life, a home etc

So it's sadly probably not that simple and the police etc are as frustrated as anyone

Another waste of £31m of taxpayers money and a nice little earner for the lawyers.

Our soldiers will be unable to do their job if this PC nonsense carries on,I see that they have been told quite recently to stop shouting at terror suspects?
