I agreed with everything you said until you brought morality into it. Some of us can't afford another monthly/yearly payment and live outside the BBC Radio Stoke area so don't have much choice. Personally, I rarely listen to games anyway unless I'm in the area and the thought of getting VP hasn't even crossed my mind, and I won't until 1-its reputation improves and 2-it becomes affordable to me.

The reputation thing is seriously a red herring - it works, it doesn't fail and only one person has had more than a couple of problems with it within the same season. As I said, they gave a free month for the one time there was a genuine problem, and Rob F made a point of checking and finding that it wasn't the club at fault but a technical issue way back down the process.

As for the cost, it is under 15p a day - that's the cost of half a cigarette, a twentieth of a pint of beer or about a tenth of a bag of chips. If you can honestly and hand-on-heart tell me that the only reason you don't buy it is because that is too expensive, then fine. I myself am very short of the folding stuff but it's very easy to make a saving elsewhere.

Of course, it's your personal choice and if you don't want VP then nobody can have a problem with that, but I find it hard to accept that the price of it is an issue.

I reckon that with the interviews and other related stuff as well as the match commentaries it is good value and can't really understand why a few people (not aimed at you) have made it a mission to put VP down.

Years ago, (1990's?) we only had a terrible rubbish service on the phone called Clubcall / Teamtalk and that really was expensive ! They waffled to make the call long, and it was easy to rack up £1 or £2 a call every day for a snippet of transfer rumours pre-internet, pre-OVF and pre-Valiant Player. We are lucky compared to then.

A classic case of internet diahorrea, where the point is argued long after both sides have become entrenched and wouldn't budge even if God sent a sign from heaven to say the other person was right.

Who?... I was simply pointing out the proper process of reporting posts and threads... If I see something that breaks the rules I usually delete it, as I did on this thread.

A few on here just have to have a good keyboard argument and more especially the last word, and the only surprise about this thread is that one of our worst resident lady know-alls hasn't waded in as if it were a food fight just for the glee of the argument.

There has been no argument

Having said that, the poster who is not happy with people depriving the club is actually in the right - but only on that point, and to ask for Doha to be banned is absurd and totally over the top, Doha is only handing out information that anyone determined enough could find out anyway.

The thread isnt about depriving the club of funds, the only person to bring up listening to games was the person who had posts deleted but couldnt be bothered to report it.

The club is losing a small amount of money when people don't buy Valiant Player and anyone that doesn't get it and uses a free service is actually ripping off fellow Vale fans who put money into the club in many different ways. But it's a matter of personal morality and conscience and hardly an Old Bailey court case.

So listening to radio stoke is depriving the club of funds?

All in all, a good service and as for the joker who said not everyone can afford it - please... £1 a week ? Times must be harder than I imagined, maybe sell your jewellery or pawn your porn.

Perhaps for some times are harder than for others, perhaps the quid would be a stretch too far or perhaps every pound saved means another week survived

Only one person?... you know this for a fact?

Perhaps some people have made all the savings they can to allow them to go to home matches but not away matches, perhaps they should make another saving, buy Player and listen to all games instead of attending?

The point I made earlier is that the thread wasnt about vale player, depriving the club of money, personal finances, budget savings or anything more than a request for information about Doha radio.

It isnt a game day, no one asked about commentary. Someone assumed and made comments about theft etc then demanded a poster, who hadnt posted in the thread, to be banned but couldnt be bothered to report the thread properly and give his/her reasons why they had a problem.

People buy food to take to the ground, or prepare it themselves, some drink in the town, some sell their game tickets when they cant attend is that depriving the club of funds? Should we ban them all? Some even buy season tickets when they could pay on the day, is that depriving the club of funds?

If it came down to the choice between paying the extra cost of an online ticket [debit card charges/postage] or vale player which would you recommend?

I paid for valiant player, tried to listen to one game and it wouldn't work. Rang them up, they couldn't sort it. Eventually got a refund and listen perfectly on dohas link with no problem.

Valiant player is muck.

Even if it now works perfectly, i would still use dohas link or anything else because they ****ed me right off

Don't know if this has all ready been posted because I couldn't be arsed to read through all the posts.

Open MIXLR

Click on the "listen" tab bottom of

screen.

At search bar, type in either DOHA or ADAM DIXON.

And listen.

I use MIXLR when not at home, because I only use iphone5 or iPad.

Valliant player will NOT work on Apple devices, so I have no choice but to use MIXLR.

The marvel of modern technology eh ?

Valiant player works perfectly well on apple devices.

I listen every other week on my iPhone5. You just need to download the football league app, which is free, and log in using your valiant player details.
