Now that the police have admitted they got it wrong, and apologised,i just wonder how the do gooders feel who said it was all the vale fans fault.

Do-gooders are good people, clue is in the title ;)

Don't associate us do-gooders with people who only blame one section, its clear there are four parties who are culpable. The Police have come out and apologised now its time for the club, the Vale fans involved in the violence and the Wolves fans involved in the violence to do the same.

I must have imagined seeing vale "fans" ripping parts off cars and throwing them in the direction of there own fans

You are not allowed to mention that,or the disturbances in Burslem.

If there had been no Police presence then everyone would have strolled home swopping witty banter with our friends from Wolverhampton and wishing them all the very best for the rest of the season

"The police report does pick out some successes from their operation – including a barrier on the Vale Park car park to separate home and away supporters and the use of the Tommy Cheadle's pub solely for away fans."

Real successes them!!

The wall was useless as they let both sets of fans out at the same time so why segregate them on the car park but let them mix on Hamil Rd 30 seconds later?

Giving Tommy's over to away fans just alienated home fans.

Sorry Police if these are successes then gawd help us!

It seems a major problem at the time was that fans from both sides were herded in one direction only to find the exit blocked by police cars, this caused congestion and in the midst of the crowd were dog handlers who had little control over their dogs.

Abandoning the vehicles was not part of the plan and the decisions to leave the vehicles blocking the road was taken by individual officers. Creating this blockage caused several problems with the control of the crowd and its movement, police screaming at fans to keep moving, dogs being surrounded, fans being physically pushed in a direction where there was no exit all add to the anger and frustration of fans and police which takes very little to ignite into something more than simple crowd control, the dogs in the crowd turned the frustration into fear and anger and when that happens people react.

Thats not to say there wasnt an element of fans from both sides who were not to blame for some of the disturbances but the major problem was the inability of the crowd to get out of a situation created by the police.

As always just my opinion.

Jesus we all know that there were some Vale fans who acted totally unacceptably but it is the role of the police to anticipate flash points and plan to deal with them accordingly. Their own report shows that the didn't.

I was put in a very uncomfortable position as were many others and that shouldn't have happened and it could have been avoided. Whoever was in charge of the operation was obviously incompetent and screwed up. Public disturbance happen unfortunately and the police have to plan accordingly and they didn't.that is the point.

Also, as a result of this we now gave increased police bills based on a police **** up?

did it happen in the ground? Do you not think its strange that of most of pics released by the police no one has ever seen them at a vale game, a mob of youths were seen walking up hamil rd DURING the match, topped off by strong rumours that some sjoke thugs were coming up for the day and well you get the picture. Ur point proves yet another failing by the police to protect the real fans from this behaviour if this was the case
