Hughes still has that desire, passion & love of football to keep going, in fact he's stated in a interview with Notts that he'd like to play until he's 40. I'm relieved he's playing for us rather than against us anyway. No problems with Hughes for me, he's a mean, not so lean, scoring machine. He'll knock a few in next season for us, i have no doubt.

 

It will be interesting to see how Hughes copes with MA`s pre-season training, perhaps he has had tips off the Pope?

I would be surprised if he does full sessions and will probably have his own sessions instead. There is no need to thrash a 37 year old.

True, he can use his head on the pitch to save his legs, but has to keep fit enough to extend his career, that is mainly up to himself, though I would expect MA to push him a little.

Whilst procrastinating slightly I used wikipedia to calculate Hughes' goals per game and it makes for an interesting read. This is treating all appearances (sub or full) as a full appearance so it is open to some debate:

Kiddy: 0.5

WBA: 0.51

Cov:0.36

WBA:0.2

Oldh: 0.45

Bpool: 0.33

Nots: 0.46

PVFC: 0.56
