Right decision, thanks to him for appointing DC and the promotion but a series of bad decisions since meant things just could not carry on. Had already cost Andy Crosby his job and was just no justification for him to remain in situ. We’ll see what comes next but ultimately the reason we are in this mess falls on the Shanahans, vital they get this right now.

It’s a great feather in the cap for him. Think this might also be more an indictment of his teammates but he’s been the one attacker since the Fleetwood game that has made a positive impact each time. Very pleased for him even if it means we’re without him Saturday.

Firstly congrats to young Baylee, a nice achievement for him. I think he is someone who seems to have come on as a player in the last month or so and is one of few who can hold their heads high in this squad. Guess this means we are without him Saturday though which is not so good.

Made an impulse decision on Saturday before the game to get a ticket for this. If I'd come to my senses and realised the shower of <ovf censored> they were about to show against Oxford I wouldn't have bothered. Got no faith in this team getting a result until they show me they can. My guess is we'll start well again for 10 minutes or so and then they will get a corner and fill in the blank from there.

It seemed there was a lot more people more interested in just looking at their phones than what was on the pitch. I was one of them. Only time I did get really agitated second half Baylee Dipepa had picked up the ball in what for any other team could be a dangerous area but no Vale player even thought to make a run to help him and instead he was hung out to dry with three Oxford players around him and no Vale player in sight. That to me showed there are players who've quit.

Honestly I just think people have had it beaten out of them. Seems most are at the acceptance stage now and I think even if a glance at the table still shows survival should be more than achievable the eye test just tells you this team don’t have it in them. The atmosphere was very eery though, nobody really got on the players backs it was almost a shrug of the shoulders at the latest embarrassment. I just don’t know how many more times an opponent gets their first corner of the game and then proceeds to score with ease while our gormless defenders look at each confused as to how it has happened for the umpteenth time this season.

Everything you say is right Ray but not letting Carol get away with it either. Ultimately she is his boss and the buck stops with her for allowing it to go on especially as she has seemingly nailed her colours to the mast in relation to him.

I think that was one of the most depressing games of the lot in a season that’s just a catalogue of failure. Flitcroft has to be in an untenable position now but it goes beyond him. I get many won’t like this and nothing will take away what she did in the past but a fish rots from the head so I’m sorry but Carol has to take the blame here. Whether it’s blind loyalty or gross negligence the end result is going to be the same. Thought young Baylee tried when he came on but he’s certainly in no position to dig this team out of trouble on his own. The defence if I never see any of them again it’ll be too soon. Gone past the point of anger though just disappointment at how this club has royally screwed things up.

That was just an utter shambles. I thought we started ok for the first 5-10 minutes but that’s when you know we are clutching some very thin straws. Beyond that the whole defence is a disgrace. You could pluck any four from the crowd and I think there’d be no noticeable difference in how they defend set pieces. And for some stupid reason I decided on a whim to get a ticket for Burton away next Saturday. Feel an idiot doing that now.

Have to see the replay but from where I was sat that looked inside the area from Mitch so got away with that there.

Once again allowing them free runners on a corner. Lucky Ripley got in the way of it. Dan Jones is pretty much doing nothing than being a turnstile against their winger.

Putting all the other areas we incompetent aside the inability of this team to defend set pieces is probably the most disgraceful aspect of this team.

The sheer hubris of that quote from Flitcroft about not entertaining the idea of relegation is something he’ll never shake off and deservedly so. People at the club have brought it all on themselves.

Well known fact that being unable to defend a ball into your box or threatening the opposition goal is woke. Those bloody wokes are all to blame clearly…

You can stick a fork in us now, it’s over if it wasn’t before. Will just make three points then don’t want to say anything else about these spineless losers:- 1. I don’t want to see any criticism of the support today, people tried to stick with them to the bitter end. 2. While not the worst Vale team in terms of ability they are certainly the softest. The defence is a pathetic sight. Those goals we let in were shameful. 3. Congrats to young Baylee on his first senior goal. Am only sorry the abysmal recruitment has left us throwing you in there too early.

You can have all the rallying cries for the fans you want at some point these <ovf censored> useless bums on the pitch have to do their bit. They have 45 minutes to even give themselves a glimmer of a shout. Shame on me for fooling myself into thinking they’d deliver today.

I’m with you we’re winning this today. Don’t know how and it could be some triple deflection or whatever but we will do it. DJ in the fanzone got on my bad side though. Not the best reason but was trying to order off the oatcake stand and couldn’t hear a <ovf censored> word the lady behind there was saying to me but I am getting progressively more miserable as I get older 😂

Nice little touch by the club to be giving everyone a voucher for a free soft or hot drink today.

Im trying to work out what formation this is. Is it 3-5-2 with Massey and Willo up top together or a 3-4-2-1 with Willo on his own and Massey and Weir behind? Disappointed to see Mitch not included/fit enough to play.

Don’t see what the point in any of this is in all honesty, the statement itself is whole bunch of nothing. Try winning some games, that’s all they have to do or what anyone should care about.

To be honest it’s probably worth a shot taking them all there. Moore isn’t going to get many free mid-weeks for the remainder so why not spend a bit of time there for him to try and get his ideas across? Whether it goes in one ear and out the other with some of them that’s on the players. Probably gives him a better shot to find out more about them as people and which he wants to take forward when we are likely in L2 next season as well.

A serious approach like getting a scam artist like David Ames involved in the club (now serving a 12 stretch if memory serves me right) and proudly portraying him as our greatest ever sponsor.

Didn’t go yesterday so can’t really say anything on the game itself. With that said reading Baggers in the Valiant this morning Wilson didn’t play as he “wasn’t feeling 100% and didn’t feel he could give his full commitment” and Loft due to needing stitches in his lip is utterly infuriating. I’ve felt for a while some of these injuries are not as bad as they really are and some of these players are just pussying out when they could play and that is just reinforcing that view.
