  1. Not a shock but think is on for our lowest league crowd under the Shanahans. Sparse is the word.
  2. I think by and large if going with this formation that’s not a bad lineup. Good that Smith and Yak dropped, been liabilities for too long.
  3. Looks like Cheltenham v Burton is off due to a waterlogged pitch. Seeing that ball bounce there on ours doesn’t instill much confidence. Can’t control the weather but certainly feel for any Orient fans travelling that distance midweek if it does get postponed.
  4. They surely wouldn’t have this called off at this stage. Would they?
  5. On the one hand at least any future manager won’t be bound by having to work with existing coaching staff. Seen how that works out before. On the other hand if all of them are gone and left the academy staff in charge it does make me think the whole coaching staff have pretty much just raised what an absolute <ovf censored> sandwich they’ve been given to work with.
  6. For tonight anyway Will Ryder looks like he’ll be leading the team.
  7. Anyone else think that story was heading down a different path at that point? Can’t see Evans as an option. Has a chance to get into the Championship with Stevenage so won’t pass that up. Eustace I just think his sights are set higher than us I’m afraid, he was a finalist for the Plymouth job recently. Its going to be someone happy to work under Flitcroft. Don’t think it’ll be an old-school manager type as that would make Flitcroft redundant and let’s be honest turkeys don’t vote for Christmas.
  8. Does seem to point to that. Notice on that statement there’s no words from Flitcroft or Carol for that matter thanking him for his time here like he’s done when players have left. Maybe reading too much into it but guess one scenario is Croz just reached breaking point after training with what he’s had to work with and said a few home truths to his superiors. Timing of it all is curious.
  9. The person who texted in and suggested Troy Deeney. Few things make me just stop dead in my tracks but fair play that one did it.
  10. Just to wish Andy Crosby all the best, great guy and coach. Nothing will ever take away the role he played alongside DC but just not the right skillset for the manager job here. Think it’s a bit <ovf censored> of Vale that they had him take training today and then sacked him.
  11. On the one hand I think Flitcroft if he’s not going to fall on his sword should do it. This is his squad he’s put together so show us. Beyond that Ainsworth to go back to what we are more about as a club. If want to keep this current model then someone like Bonner comes into play or if an in work manager Parkinson at Altrincham who has done an incredible job and plays good attacking football.
  12. I completely agree or at least the feasibility of it could have been looked at. Long ago accepted am in the minority on this but it’s a millstone round the clubs neck and will continue to be.
  13. Carol herself when she first took over said Colin was an expert on all the rules and regulations etc and was a massive help on that. Maybe I’m just being crazy but it certainly seems someone with that expertise and respect in the industry would be a useful thing to want to have but what do I know.
  14. Think the one thing in our favour is apparently Agyei for them is out injured again. I don’t want to see Smith or Yak in this lineup, they’ve been utter liabilities for far too long and need to make way. Get Lopata in there, he looks like he is someone who is ready to start chewing on some kneecaps and then Dan Jones (at least if he takes the long throws then Debrah can be in the box to try and win the header).
  15. Unless there’s something more that’s pretty amateur hour stuff. Applying for international clearance is a pretty standard thing in these transactions. Don’t know who is at fault on this but I’d say this kind of thing wouldn’t have happened with Colin Garlick here.
  16. Could just imagine him working for a woman owner. That would be a bridge too far for me not that it would even have a 1% chance of happening.
  17. Our Nath confirmed by Charlton. Great appointment that, should get them clear of any danger
  18. Well poised test match again. England need another 332 to win with 9 wickets in hand. India obviously favourites defending that fourth innings but been here before with them being ahead in the game… Probably one of the biggest successes of Bazball is those run chases where you think no chance now there’s a bit of doubt. Needs at least one batsman to go big though, Root feels due a score! Good job to take 20 Indian wickets again with three spinners all of whom are not exactly experienced plus Jimmy of course approaching the midpoint of his career. That’s a great achievement and once again where Stokes really excels as captain.
  19. I’m completely with you on the defence Osh. We haven’t been a team that can score goals regularly but you can still win games through the basics in defence. Nathan Smith especially when we are trying to be a possession based team is badly exposed wherever in that back line he is. Yak has been terrible since coming back from injury, good run by Lawal for them on the second goal but Yak pretty much played the role of matador waving him through. We lack a leader on the pitch, now Funso is back make him the captain and Ripley vice. Smith is someone who plays alongside a leader as he did with Leon not be the leader himself. Might be a bit controversial and I’m probably opening myself to get pelters here as he has been a punching bag but I don’t put much on Loft yesterday. His control isn’t good but at least he was trying to make a nuisance of himself, that’s worth something to me. There was just little to work with for him.
  20. The truth of the matter is on things like this it’s the culmination of a number of things but ultimately Carol is the owner and it’s her responsibility. I don’t think she will act though in fact if we went down I think it’s more likely than not we’d go into next season with Flitcroft and Crosby still in situ which makes it even more on her.
  21. He was at one of the meet Andy Crosby and the coaching staff events before the season started and spoke then. Seemed a nice bloke. Think that may be a part of the problem, there isn’t anyone who can be the bad cop. It’s all very nice to go along with our very nice boys in the squad.
  22. If I didn't know any better would think it was old Norm set himself up a burner account on here after a few sherries. Certainly attended the same charm school.
  23. It’s hard now to make the case in favour of him staying. Under no illusion that he won’t be in the dugout for the Orient game though. Any other club this wouldn’t be tolerated but there is a certain smugness about the hierarchy at Vale that they know best and am sure they’ll try to just pretend to ignore it all and hope it goes away. Guess the only thing is if they did move off Crosby you just know they will put Dunn or Schofield in “temporary” charge and just drag it out until they become the next manager by stealth.
  24. A pretty chastening afternoon. I’m certainly not someone who moans about everything but enough is enough. It’s basically the old saying about the definition of insanity to keep doing what we are right now.
