  1. Apparently they want Thomas Frank to take over. He would be mental to leave a stable club like Brentford for that basket case. Reckon it’ll be someone like Dyche they go for in the end.
  2. Replaced by Ferguson again. Good to see some real out the box thinking from MacAnthony.
  3. Suppose the other scenario is they’ve taken one look at these owners, seen their best player sold to a relegation rival and thought it was better to jump now. Hope it was all worth it for Dom Telford.
  4. Incredible really. DC is approaching 2 years at Vale now isn’t he? If so that would have him at around third if we were a Championship club. Suppose you have to factor in Steve Bruce doing his tour of Championship clubs accounts for some of that turnover. Apparently he’s in the running for Norwich as if there’s not enough evidence about him already.
  5. Etherington gone from Crawley after 32 days. Always thought it would be a circus with the crypto-bros but this is ridiculous.
  6. Dean Smith gone from Norwich. The amount of turnover in that league for managers is ridiculous. Just shows the stakes involved getting to the Premier League.
  7. Definitely seems that way. The York chairman must have been going some as Askey in the past has dealt with the worst of Smurthwaite and the old Macc owner. I know his last few months at Vale didn’t go well but overall his track record is such that I would expect there’ll be a decent amount of clubs in L2 and the conference who would be interested. Wouldn’t surprise if just up the road at Crewe they had a look and I think they could do far worse given where they are at.
  8. Seems a strange move as Askeys done a really good job overall there. Doesn’t seem to be a popular move either so maybe to do with a falling out behind the scenes over money possibly?
  9. I’d imagine it’d be Neil Critchley who Luton go for. Did a great job at Blackpool in the Championship and Luton are a similar sized club. Think he fits the bill. With DC to me I’d imagine there’s a few other L1 managers who are probably more “fashionable” to Championship clubs than he is (Bonner at Cambridge for one). Bookies odds mean nothing, look at some of the ridiculous names that have appeared on there when we’ve had a vacancy.
  10. Paul Warne left Rotherham to become Derby manager.
  11. Poch or possibly Zidane would be my guess on it. If I was Potter I’d keep building up my CV at Brighton than risk the Chelsea job at this point.
  12. I’m surprised Leicester haven’t pulled the trigger yet. He must have built up a lot of credit in the bank from the owners as that loss at Brighton was a performance that usually ends in a sacking. Something must have gone on behind the scenes with Tuchel as I can’t believe it’s just a product of the last few games. Maybe he’s not been happy with the players brought in?
  13. Pete O’Rourke reporting that JFH gone from Burton. From a Vale perspective we could have done with him hanging on a little bit longer but that was almost inevitable.
  14. How long are we giving it before they turn on this one then? Neil has a decent track record but anything the idiot son touches seems to turn to <ovf censored> so reckon this will follow suit.
  15. Rooney has not long just gone over to the MLS hasn’t he at DC United? Doubt he’d even give it a second glance. Don’t know about anyone else but I was a huge admirer from afar of the job Paul Lambert was doing there. He’ll have them right where they belong in no time.
  16. I hope Gareth wouldn’t touch them with a bargepole. Not just because he was a great player for us but he deserves better than having the stench of that club associated with him. Nothing anyone ever does there will be good enough for that whiny entitled fanbase.
  17. No more than 15 minutes after Stoke announced it I’m not sure if this was intentional by Vale but this is some low key <ovf censored> by our media team
  18. Can’t imagine Wilder or Neil leaving their current jobs. I’m just not sure it’s as desirable a job as some would think it is. There have been other decent managers like Jones and Rowett go there and not succeed, tells me it’s not the manager that’s the problem. The Coates family will go and give it to Pulis again or someone like that. It’s all they know.
