  1. Pitch is awful. They were watering it before the match and there is a lot of spray.
  2. I think draws are more valuable than we realise. Even a point, when our rivals are struggling to even get 1 will make a huge difference.
  3. So we all didn't love him (got dressed up as smurfs) when we won promotion? Yeah agreed. I’m not going to rewrite history. There were many fans who kissed his ass as much as Carol’s today. Right up to the end of Page people were still giving it the “we love you papa Smurf” tosh and “thank you for your sweetie jar” guff.
  4. That’s actually true, I remember that but I believe that was because he gave up a full time job in IT that paid well.
  5. A draw would actually be a mega result because there are no matches left harder than this. If we can compete V Peterborough we can against anyone.
  6. It’s relevant because if there are players who we are not getting value out of, then there are many many others who should face to same criticism. Such as Conor Grant. Who we still have a year to pay.
  7. Game time is 10th highest in the squad and appearance numbers 13th highest.
  8. Not really, I think if they had lost they would have looked to forget it and been fired up. I’m glad they won, their minds will still be on that and although they will be on a high, will still be tired and probably less keen to throw everything at a midweek league game with Vale.
  9. Does anyone really have a choice to get involved with Norman? Did we? The common factor is he will only get involved with desperate clubs who have no real choice.
  10. Last time out I was just near the car park when I heard it was postponed. To be honest while we can’t throw away games, if we lose just by 1-0, keeping our goal difference preserved given our recent dreadful results V Peterborough would be ok.
  11. At the moment he is on a par with what Crosby managed, as aside from the opening day, he never saw us in the relegation zone either.
  12. Thank god we are out of the relegation zone! A battling effort, but god, awful quality.
  13. Wouldn’t go that far, Wigan have been feeble and we should have put something away.
  14. Can’t believe how many misses I am seeing…I can it’s Vale but what on earth do they do all week?
  15. That’s always what ideally should have been done. If he had been the 4th striker of a good group we’d have been ok with his contributions. As it is, despite all his injuries he remained someone needed on the pitch because there has been nobody better.
  16. At his best he was capable of creating chances and we did look on the whole as a more dangerous side. He wasn’t some Haarland esque goal hog who simply scored goals, he could run with the ball, pass and open up defenses for others. You just wonder if he wasn’t so fragile if he would have been better used as a Danny Sonner style playmaker opening up chances for others as his football intelligence is very high. Even so, I won’t dispute that he has been injured far too often and his best has been distant memories for most of this season. Yes, he should have been released in the summer, but he rejoined but was only on the basis that Flitcroft could find nobody else. I dread to think who the alternative was if he had not because Flitcroft thought Loft was worth chasing all summer. It has been a bit like chasing the hot girl in the park all summer but when you get a chance of a date you find out she has a penis.
  17. 1,593 minutes this season, which actually means he played the 10th highest number of total minutes in the whole squad. What does that say about the others? Port Vale Stats, League One | FBref.com FBREF.COM
  18. Don’t deny that, but 105 games in all competitions since August 2021 isn’t the dire final figure many think. Even this season, he has made 28 appearances which places him 13th highest in the whole squad.
  19. He may have effectively gone but despite the injuries, is one of the most successful strikers we have had since Pope, which yes is damning with faint praise as the candidate list is very short… Even so, be careful what you wish for because it has been proven hard to find better… Will probably get Butterworth back when he gets the push from Carlisle. I’m calling it now!
  20. If we get even 1 draw from Posh/Bolton that would exceed any expectations of our possible points total. My personal view is that can Peterborough really be bothered for our game? They lost to Carlisle 3-1 at home, so are beatable and although in the playoffs, they are secure in those really with not that much to play for that’s highly motivating.
  21. Charlton signed Kuzenga Lua Lua on 15th March. There were still players we could have brought in, even since Moore came in. We just don’t seem to want to do all we can to stay up. It all comes down to money.
  22. Williams had just the attitude we needed. He saw the situation was crap and probably told Flitcroft to fook off when he saw the obvious shambles. Difference is, we have a club of dim mugs who fell for his tales of excellence. Flitcroft came up with another yarn to save face.
  23. If we get relegated expect the cheapest of the cheap. No strikers again and all our under contract “stars” keeping their money for another year while we finish 14th in league 2. Carol spent nothing this year, so don’t expect the boat to be pushed out in league 2. Expect a load of Championhip loans instead of the Prem ones and that’s your lot.
  24. Yep this is Carol’s mess. Anyone running the club knows the lack of strikers was an issue but kept going along with it all season long before committing mega money to a proven manager for 5.5 years. Plus anyone who enjoys watching good football would be incredibly depressed by this season. Carol I guess isn’t a fan of watching good football.
