  1. Starting to look very ropey at the back. Can’t believe Oxford a stuffing the seemingly invincible Peterborough 4-0 either…
  2. What a sitter missed by Garrity. Why can’t these one on ones we have had recently be faken with more composure.
  3. The interest may not be owed to Carol, it is owed to the creditors. My point is, it is the club in debt, not Carol personally. If it all goes wrong, the club goes bust, not Carol. Nothing sinister about that, it’s the case with any business but the idea she is some saviour putting herself on the line for Vale is wide of the mark.
  4. That’s a good point. It was the final payment year.
  5. Read page 9. Barclays, ten year loan. From June 2020. That’s a loan, 2.5% interest to a bank. Not nonsense.
  6. Nobody has covered it. It’s an outstanding loss. The 3.4 million is debt owed by the club. It has not been paid off by Carol. That’s clear from reading the accounts. There seem to be some people out there who think Carol is personally absorbing the losses. This is totally untrue. The losses in the accounts are covered by the loans and our creditors. Carol is one such creditor, but it isn’t free money. Page 9 outlines that we owe a lot with loans in excess of a year. Which means rolling payments that will be compounded into next years figures and beyond.
  7. It’s the Vale that are in debt. Those accounts are the club’s, not Carol’s. If we were getting bankrolled by her, there would be no need for the debt or the creditors outlined in page 9 of the account. All she is doing is taking out loans. Not in her name, but the club’s.
  8. If we emulated Rotherham and Peterborough I would be ecstatic.
  9. You have missed out page 9 that refers to the loans owed to creditors after 1 year. Those sentences refer to short term loans only repayable within a year at 0%. Effectively that’s 1 year interest free. The Barclays loan at 2.5% and others are detailed at Page 9 under point 7 under amounts due after 1 year. That is debt to the club, not Carol as these are club accounts.
  10. When I say Barclays I mean with Barclays by the owners..
  11. It isn’t. One such loan is one taken out by Barclays against the club.
  12. Yet it is an industry where the workers take home big wages. Even in league 2. Where else would uneducated men like Ryan Loft get £3,000 + a week for being awful? On Wednesday I spent £27 plus programme and food to watch what was an evening of non entertainment. I can’t think of any other circumstance with life where I would spend that sort of money for nothing in return, let alone a whole season in doing it.
  13. Look at the loans taken out, then look at the interest. They are against the club, not personal expenditure by Carol.
  14. Actually a large proportion of the losses are interests on loans owed to her as I see it. So Carol’s kids will never starve with Vale around.
  15. It has to question how the club is run. Smurfwaite was a horrible man, yet I don’t think the club racked up these sort of debts under him. Certainly the rubbish football under his ownership was a cheaper form of rubbish football for similar outcomes so far…
  16. We do, but that’s all pointless if the corporate operation does not make more money.
  17. I guess it will. I mean Sky Sports in the UK can’t surely tempt the EFL to give up international revenue for games. I’m hoping, as someone who uses a VPN for many games to access them in the UK, I’ll still be able to see all games somehow.
  18. That’s the grimmest bit. Last season was actually fairly successful in terms of gates etc. God knows what the money has gone on because it wasn’t on a top class squad.
  19. Not really. Which is why you shouldn’t buy a lower league club to remain one. You need to either spend the money to get to the Champ or leave.
  20. Peterborough are only £5 million more in debt than we are, but guess what? If they get to the champ they will pay that off while ours will increase or worse in LG2. It pays to spend money on a good squad.
  21. A cheap foreign signing that nobody can moan about just yet because he is far too obscure for anyone to have seen play is a classic Norman Smurfwaite agent catalogue scenario. That’s what really pees me off is this signing of players who nobody can ever say they have ever seen play, because nobody from the club was in the states watching 2nd tier US league football in October when he last played. When will people actually learn from Rudge? What’s the point of having him at the club if we don’t learn from his example? He never signed a player he had never not seen play live. Totally agree with him on that, so why does not the club?
  22. Quite a lot is pushing it. He played 36 games for the Colorado Rapids in the MLS, the rest in a tier below that. 173 games in 11 years is a pretty small amount which suggests either injured or bench warming. Martin Paterson left us to play at the level he has and he got 9 goals which tells you how bad the standard must be!
