Commiserations to her family, but that's as generous as I can be.

 

I'm with Owen Jones on this - save the big celebration for the end of Thatcherism and the greed and division that is her legacy.

If her policies were so very bad why didnt labour change them when they got into power? Didnt they just continue them and enjoy the boom?

Because the 11 years of power will have changed public perceptions enough?

 

Now we have an economy built on a pack of cards and won't see out of the economic downturn for a long, long time. Now we are just based on services and credit, this stems from her.

Had a beer in Aberystwyth with a student from the valleys 18 months ago.

 

He said then that "when she dies" they really will have street parties in the welsh mining villages !

 

Personally I think we should all have a minutes private reflection NOT to mourn her death,but to spare a thought for the victims of Thatcherism.

 

I HATED her & her dole queue Britain policies !!

 

But to celebrate her death would make me as evil as she was !.

I dont entirely disagree but we cant compete in other markets.... we havent been able to for many years.... new labour did nothing to reverse the trend and continued the same rout.... she didnt hide her policies and was repeatedly elected... so who is to blame? the electorate or her?

Really don't Germany, Belgium and Sweden compete at the forefront of various industries why can't we?

 

Labour were an utter shambles for years, the electorate generally has a slant towards those these policies?
