Says it all, really. We have 9 points to be won at home in the space of 11 days.

 

This is called having your destiny in your own hands.

 

For the team, the chance to pretty much seal the deal by a week on Tuesday must be a massive incentive.

 

Considering all those games are covered by cheap and even cheaper tickets, I doubt

we, the fans, will ever have a more affordable chance of seeing us get promoted.

 

It would be great to see 6500 there today, and I now think we could hit 10,000 if we can seal it at home v the Cobblers.

The way the fixtures have fell couldn't be any more to the script.

 

To have 3rd, 4th and 5th as the home games left (plus bottom of the league) and the chance to take points and have control of your rivals destiny sets up for the 'perfect season'.....if we can actually win!

 

If we blow this it would be doubly frustrating as it couldn't be any more in our own hands if we tried.

At this stage of a season, a team in second place seeking automatic promotion 'should' be looking to go 7 games unbeaten no matter who the opposition are. I do believe we are capable of that feat and I still think we can finish as Champions. Gills have a couple of tough games to come and we could be right on their tails after next weekend.

 

Time will tell, but we couldn't of asked for more back in August.

A great win today that re-asserts us as auto-promo favourites with Gills. Pressure now very much on those below. 2 clean sheets in the next two games will pretty much have us on the cusp. I'm still targeting Rochdale as the day promotion is confirmed.
