Let's spring a few surprises and catch them on the hop. A 2-1 win with Young Ben and Sub Pope with a late winner.

Fred, you have done some great wind-ups in your time, but suggesting dropping a 27-goal top scorer is the best ever. Fred, you are, er, joking...... Fred ??

Actually David, I'm not.

Tom needs a rest, miss starting a game - recharge his batteries.

It's not going for him at the moment, and maybe it will upset the way teams set up their defence against us.

Just a blip I hope, but I really think he could do with 'resting' - not 'dropping'.

Well, I respect your opinion but would worry about how it would affect him psychologically. It's not as if he has gone 12 games without scoring - he came within a lick of post paint with his header that hot the post at Barnet and also hit the woodwork the game before. I'm worried it would send the wrong message and we need him for the work he does - maybe we should be looking at the service he has got recently instead.

I do trust MA to do the right thing though - he has all the facts and knows the players and their mentalities and for the most part, the vast majority on here are not in the same position.

David, it is merely my opinion and obviously it's Micky's opinion that counts. As you say, he has all the info etc etc and he gets paid for it as well!

I don't think Tom would be happy at being droppped but I expect any of the team would/should feel the same. However, I think it may alter the dynamic of our play and give opposing players something else to contemplate and work against. As it is, teams know how we are going to set-up and are setting out their strategies to combat that.

I'm not advocating Tom is out of the picture, merely that perhaps it's time to give him a rest, and our players as well as other teams something else to go at.

Tom is an integral part of a squad that has got us into an automatic promotion slot and long may that continue.

I sincerely hope you are correct. My worry is that Saturday was not a blip, we have not been playing well for a while now, although teams have been beaten we have not been impressive.

We will all settle for a scrappy 3 points in any game now, but let us hope the earlier rich vein of form is discovered.

I predict we'll win 3-1 with Pope scoring. Then everyone will tout us as champions in the making again...

we are fourth in the from table [ over 6 games ] prior to saturday, top, prior to that second

im not sure what people are expecting and why the pessimism

turn it on its head, with maybe the exception of chesterfield and in the games we have lost which of the other teams played well against us ?
