Let's also stop all those ex-pats that choose to live abroad stop coming back 'over here' and claiming free NHS care.

 

If the ex-pats are retired and fully paid up arent they more entitled than people of working age?

 

I have a simple rule when Im over for a visit... if its something that needs doing I pay for it and it gets done.... if I run short of medication I see a GP get a scrip and get it filled.... over here I just pay for it and its usually cheaper than the scrip.

So this guys mother died at Stafford hospital he then wants Julie Bailey to suffer illness for what she has fought so hard for and bought into the public domain.From listening to the radio on way home from work.His father wants no more to do with his son now.

I think there are significant problems with the nurse profession and with non qualified staff when it comes to care on wards. It is difficult to quantify this because one has to rely on own experiences which have been some time apart.

 

Let me first go back to 1992 and what was then the City General Hospital in Stoke / Newcastle. My uncle then aged 73 was in hospital with a pelvis fracture following a fall. He was allowed to have a further fall on the ward and caused a further fracture to his femur. This was because the staff were simply not there or not visible and I don't accept it was under staffing. It is that nursing staff think they are managers who sit in an office.

 

Then my own injury - fractured skull - where I ended up on a ward unconscious for 4 days and needed monitoring. My wife and a visitor (who is a nurse practitioner in specialist baby care) say that neither the doctors or the nurses on the ward knew who I was or where I was. Again the nurses apparently rarely exited the office and they were disgusted at the exhaustion of fluids attached to a patient in the next bed which were left unattended.

 

Not being critical of the accident unit where apparently my care was very good but it was not on the ward. More to the point - Wirral Hospital at Arrowe Park and to a lesser extent Clatterbridge - and where my wife works in an admin role - has a very poor reputation with the public and many GPs and it is nursing care and other related issues at the centre of this - a problem going back many years.

 

I guess what I am saying is there are many deep seated problems in the NHS and a culture of covering this up.

Watched the whole thing live yesterday and it was interesting

 

He clealry is culpable to a greater or lesser extent but equaly seems to have put some good processes etc in place..so maybe he is the man to take tjhis forward and put things right.

 

However, sonmeone must carry the can for what has happened..it's not enough for me to just say we did too much of this or too little of that or didn't focus in the right areas etc etc..somebody made the relevant decisions and got things badly wrong

That is disgusting and who ever is responsible should be very ashamed of their pathetic actions.Julie Bailey should be proud of what she has done with all the hard work,time and effort which must also have been very emotional for her.If this had carried on there could have been more deaths,more needless suffering.

Not sure how them lieing about A&E waiting times to meet targets constitutes murder; murder may well have actually happened at Stafford after all.
