"Not forgetting, of course, the charming send-offal-through-the-post-to-upset-the-directors'-wives mob."

Does Martin have inside information about this? I thought there was no proof or conviction of who sent the packages, if it was Vale fans or if any were sent at all.

He admits that the board will block the new bid with no good reason given, but doesn't question this or take them to task for it. Pointless, half hearted, spineless journalism. Unwilling to have an opinion or question people's motives in any way. Really, what is the point, a waste of newspaper space.

As I see it the column is a broad brush commentary on all that is happenning in the Hamil including his thoughts re the 'Board...

"To be fair, the board do themselves no favours as it seems to have taken them an age to respond to the latest overture by Chaudry and Vale fan Mark Sims.

When they do, I suspect some reason will be found to block this offer, which will ratchet up the tension level even higher.

All of this means I'm dreading the inevitable EGM, because I know it will descend into ranting and personal abuse – irrespective of the outcome of any vote."

i note his view of the board is alot less scathing though barry, almost a after thought, he is far more critical of those who are campaining to bring change to the club in my opinion, and brings up the jiffy bag episode once again and aligns it to the campaigners

A good read.

who is this 'mob' who sent he packages? things like that are very easy to trace, so why haven't we heard anything? suspicious, no? even if they were genuine, who says it was a 'mob' and not just one idiot?

Tideswell manages to write 500 words which say pretty much nothing at all. There's no real insight or analysis on the current situation, but it doesn't stop him peering down his nose at the fans who have had enough and have got off their backsides to do something about it.

I'm disappointed where he says "In contrast, there's the Black and Gold campaign..." as though he feels the need to make a contrast against reasonable behaviour as though B&G is unreasonable or creating unnecessary tension and finger pointing.

If anything is going to "descend into ranting and personal abuse" then it will probably be because the supporters who own the supporter owned club are having their voice ignored and their will steamrollered by a small oligarchy, owning a minority of the shares, who appointed themselves in 2003 and haven't got the good grace to stand aside.

Wait till he reads the "Riots last home game?" thread.
