What on earth got into the Vale today? Seems like we're back to our old bottling mentality. And here was I thinking we didn't need to strengthen. Looks like Micky's shopping list needs to include a proper left back, centre back with a bit of pace and a turning circle less than an HGV, creative midfielder and probably a forward. Or maybe this was just a bad day at the office. Let's hope so.

Terrible performance and one hopefully quickly forgotten with Plymouth saturday and our trip to Gillingham....

 

fleetwood did their homework and pressed us making it more difficult to play the game. Seemed to lack motivation to get forward and just looked idle at times and it showed that without McCombe our defence is not that good. Think we lacked Loft in the middle at times but Dodds sometimes showed intent on going forward but didn't take his shot, then he got pushed wide when Andrews seemed to go forward.

 

Fleetwood were quite strong defensively and cancelled us out but that long ball over the fullback was there only tactic and we didn't seem to manage with it. Bit of pace in the defence us what we need and if Adams doesn't see that he needs another trip to Specsavers.

 

What happened today was just a glitch, however at kickoff you could tell it was going be a cr@p game as there was nothing in the vale fans, no singing.

Nothing seemed to go right today. Bounces and second halls just didn't drop for us. I don't think we played that bad.

 

If the penalty goes in we would have got at least a point. It doesn't and their heads drop. The player that conceded the free kick should have walked as he was booked a few minutes before for time wasting.

 

Abysmal ref again. Sick of saying it. No consistency whatsoever.

 

Morsy, Burge, Yates, Pope all had good games. Bizarre decision to bring on Taylor. What has Williamson got to di to get game time.

 

Win Saturday and alls well. Results went our way again.

bad performance today didn't seem to get out of 1st gear Williams is way to practicable and his peno miss simply summed his game up. feel sorry for popey today no service at all apart from an over the top pass.

I don't agree. I'd love hughes to come, but the owners need to decide the long term ethos and trajectory of the club, and the manager works towards that. Managers come and go.

The first time I saw him play like this was in the cup game with the Blades. After a few hard tackles he simply gave up and eventually was substituted, though too late for my liking. I was a bit surprised at him to be honest and it made me wonder for the first time whether he'd got the bottle for a fight. Having said that, he's been one of our most influential players and I hope this is simply a blip. I guess Micky will sort it.
