single faith schools are a direct contradiction to any attempt of integration . if all the pc brigade want multiculturalism then single faith schools should be banned. integrate or segregate you can't have it both ways.

Then do so in the appropriate places if it means that much. Religion is the cause of most of the worlds troubles, having separate schools is not the way to go to relieve the problem, in my opinion.

 

Religion has held back the human race for well over a thousand years already. The human race will never be united whilst people are fighting over which book of made up stories is the best. A massive shame really but like Tosh said, separate schools is not the way forward.

I think schools should teach about all religions..it's the only place where we can be sure that will happen. So any faith school should also have to teach about other religions..the basics at least.

 

Take it out of schools and where will children learn about other religions?

Anyway the problem for me with leaving it (in this case) to a mosque is that in a mosque they won't learn much about other religions..in a school they can be taught about all religions..hopefully ina relatively balanced way

As far as I can determine the intention for the school is one of inclusiveness irrespective of faith. Or did I read it wrong?

White English people do the same thing though, you are being stereotypical, not all are like that, some, probably most of immigrants save lives working in the NHS and so on, you must treat everyone as an individual, I can name and shame a million and one bad eggs from our own community, it wouldn't be difficult!!

No one is saying that they do. But then they are very much the exception..just like the rapists, murderers, paedophiles etc in the indigenous population are vary much the exception

You can be different and integrated...the last thing I want is a homogenous society

 

However the price for having schools based on faith should be that as part of their curriculum they have to inform kids of all the major faiths..as should all schools. Let them learn about all to understand them better, not necessarily to become a follower but to understand.
