Always thought he was a terrific footballer, his personal life is a different matter though. However, he has served his sentence, apologised and does a great deal of charity work. I have never heard of anyone questioning his "professionalism" as a footballer i.e. he does not turn up drunk for training like Roberts, so what do we do? Give him a chance, he might not be my ideal guy to socialise with but as a"football" signing, well it's right out of the top draw.

 

At some stage in the season tom Pope will pick up a knock and miss a couple of games, without him we would be in a right mess, Hughes offers that goal threat that we need in order to maintain our promotion push. As other people have mentioned a front line of Pope, Hughes, JMW and Vincent will scare every defence in this league to death!

 

It is also a great statement of intent from the new owners!!

Hes only on a fair wage packet with reinforces exactly what Paul and Norman have said in that we dont have to live month to month as there are ready funds!

 

In all of this, its being lost that the new owners really are putting their money where their mouth is.

 

They have also said that they will chat very soon with Adams to see what he wants to do in January.

Not trying to demean anyone's opinions or feelings towards criminal acts, however, no one is being asked to befriend him , go for a drink with him or even sit next to him. He is a footballer, all we have to do is watch him and cheer if the ball goes in the oppositions net. No one has to like him, this is about Port Vale FC not Lee Hughes, lets focus on what is important.

Football rumour site says Gary Madine is to go to Notts. I assume wages for him could have opened up because of Hughes

 

I'm not sure what I make of this. 1) What's in the past is in the past so I'm not going to hold that against him, and 2) he is a good goalscorer for this league.

 

However I just think him and Popey are too similar. I wouldn't mind that if he was to be on the bench for when Popey gets a knock, but you'd expect him want to be playing - Again when Richards and Pope were up front together because they were too similar Pope suffered.

 

Furthermore think of the affect it could have on the dressing room - I hope it doesn't dent the atmosphere because he is a bit boisterous

 

We do need another attacker though. But for me, the most important thing is AN ACTUAL LEFT BACK FOR THE FIRST TIME IN ABOUT TEN ****ING YEARS!!!

No. I think he may score goals. I just don't like him as a person. When he came out of prison he started doing that ****ing stupid dance when he scored like nothing had changed. Do you think the family of the person he killed thought it was fun? He could have kept his head down and shown some respect but he didn't.
