Pope breaks another record

Amazing.

Whoever said "one man doesn't make a team" was wrong when we sold Brian Horton and looked wrong when Popey went off yesterday.

I have to eat humble pie. I didn't think he'd score ten all season.

I hope people don't start chanting "he's better than Richards" when we play Chesterfield, as it may come back to haunt us. I don't think it scans well anyway.

I have to disagree, Popey didn't really get a sniff on Saturday without Vincent tearing it up down the wing. I think taking Pope off last night was a signal MA thought job done. To be fair Rovers were rubbish though and were never going to get back into it

Ridiculous from Pope.

Humble pie being eaten by myself and others.

I never thought he would hit 20 in his Vale career never mind before November 20th! Where it has come from i do not know but what a transformation.

Even his most hardened supporter from last year must surely not have expected this.

Great for him.

Great for the club.

Great for the fans. Even ones like me who thought he was a carthorse.

Tom Pope. I salute you sir. Local lad. Vale fan. History maker. Now........ Back to my pie.

I, too, am continuing to eat my pie! I have posted on here before that I was flabbergasted at the improvement in Tom's pace, holding of the ball, heading and all round general play and I have to admit I feared it might not last. My hat is off to you Tom, you are indeed getting better and when you get the terrific service you deliver everytime. Let the wingers have the ball, Tom will do the rest. My pie is tasting very, very sweet and I do not want it to finish.

We can not forget the people that are supplying the killer ball's to him as well. Strikers get a lot of glory simply because they score the goals. While I am taking nothing away from Pope he does not score many completely on his own.
