...and I said at the start of the season he'd be lucky get ten and I didn't know where the Vale goals would come from.

 

20th November now and we have Pope on 20 goals, are top goalscorers in the English football leagues, and also have the best goal difference!

Perhaps it's just me but without Tom Pope we would have surely lost tonight. Until the Pope scored that cracking first goal and followed it with a quick fire second with an amazing header we were absolutely hopeless. A poor Bristol side were running midfield and our defence was at sixes and sevens. After Popey's salvo. Bristol were a broken side all because of one man TOM POPE. The guy is playing out of his skin.

I have always believed in Tom but I must say that I never thought that he could play with so much skill and general ability. His heading is unplayable at times and how he manages to score while falling backwards is quite simply amazing.

Please, please get him signed up on a longer and improved contract because he is worth every penny and I shudder to think where we would be without him. He has netted 20 goals himself but how many others has he already laid on a plate for others?.

Tom lad some said you were a carthorse but you are playing like a thoroughbred and best of all you are a VALIANT. Keep it up and we will be needing another statue erecting for another local hero.
